Hey guys,

Couldn't figure out what forum to put this in, but here it goes.

Car was just tuned two days ago, drove it 130 miles home, doing 3rd gears pulls here and there. Car felt great, got it home did more pulls while driving it. Everything was working perfect.

First time I go to do a first gear pull I got up to about 6500 7000 in first went to shift into second, and car had a huge backfire. It popped out of second and started to slowly die. I tried giving it throttle but it just kept slowly coming to a stop.

Car wont start now, but cranks over. Checked spark, and did a boost leak test. The walbro i have installed never seemed to be quite as loud as i remembered, and when the key is in the on position i cant hear it. but when i try cranking it over i can hear it. Fuel pressure is at 47. I checked injectors and hear them clicking with a screwdriver.

I'm going to check the timing now but want to hear your opinions as well.

Didnt see how high i boosted to, but its set for 19-20 but ive been seeing like 23ish. 950cc FIC injectors, running an evo 8 ecu.

Boost leak was up 8psi only cause my make shift tester was failing.

This is a simple suggestion I once overlooked. I had an intake backfire in close to the same scenario once. It made my isc end get lodged in the port it allowed air through so it wouldn't run unless I manually cracked my throttle open to allow air to pass. Likely not your problem, but simple to diagnose.

Ended up being a loose conector on top of the intake manifold, not sure what its called but it has 7 pins. I had broken the snap, and that pull must has been enough to shake it off.. but now I seem to have lost my tune, but thats another problem. Thanks guys for the suggestions.

If anyone else has a problem like this, i'd suggest checking vital connections as they may come loose.
