Is there a shifter anywhere that has positive stops? I have a Maddog on my srt and really like the positive stops it has. I currently have a B&M on my 2g and remember reading something about a Dog Box, but I guess they went out of business. Anyone have a pic of one or know where to find or how to make one?

Dogbox Racing used to build transmissions for DSM's. They are no longer in business. They did make the positive stop shifter base and I had one. Loved it to death, but sold it with my car. Hopefully tearing up the streets in Denmark!! I sold it back in 2007, just to reference how long ago it was.

Got any pics of it by chance? I'd like to see how they did it and can't find a picture of it anywhere....

What exactly are positive stops? If it is something inside the transmission to make it sort of 'click' into gear then it seems complicated. However if it is something on gear stick itself that stops it then it will be quite easy to fabricate a metal bracket that will do that. Maybe not just a bracket, but more of a grid that will define stick's movements better than just movement of levers in the transmission.

Sorry, no pictures. Never thought to take them. LOL. Basically brackets with bolts as adjustable stops so you don't over extend your shifter when driving aggressively. I'm sure it is not hard to fabricate.

Could it be anything like this? It's been out there forever. I understand it is only necessary if you change the anchor point of the cables at the transmission, the stock shifter already has a stop with a rubber bump that limits the lever travel to the correct amount in case of a stock setup.

For a more solid feel, this exists to replace the rubber bump.

I have stops on my 2g shifter. I will take some pictures to show how easy it is to fabricate something up. It's just a couple of pieces of angle steel, and some nuts and bolts. Anyone with a welder could fabricate this for a couple of dollars.

I didn't know that they had this on vfaq for a 1g. That's awesome! I'll get some 2g pics up from my car tonight.

Yes, exactly like that, but for a 2g...

Yes, I don't imagine it being too hard to make one. Some pics of your setup would be great! Did you do it yourself?

Kurt is right, Dogbox Racing is back up and running. And I have installed that metal bushing from JNZtuning and it feels amazing, solid shifts and doesnt have that extra mushy feeling if pulling or pushing on shifter once in gear. I forget who I talked to from JNZ but he said that he only had one left and wasnt sure if the guy made them anymore (not a JNZ product). Call them up and see if it's available still.

I think there is some confusion in here, (happens a lot on this site) The conversation is about the 2g 95-99 shifter. Not the 1g.

I'm the one who makes them, thanks for the feedback! JNZ did get another batch recently, so they should have plenty left.

Is the 2G shifter the same between turbo and NT?

Oh ok, cool steve! Great product!

Oops! I definitely got confused, saw the vfaq for the 1g and just went off that, sorry. Im not familiar with the 2g shifter.

I am pretty sure the NT and Turbo shifter are exactly the same.

No worries, I wish there was one for the 2g. I'm still waiting for someone to post up pics of theirs. I also messaged Dogbox racing on facebook, but they never messaged me back....

So I still have yet to see a 2g shifter with positive stops.... Anyone?
