I have 95 GS, 420A obviously. I replaced my clutch with a Spec stage 2 and I drove it about 300 miles before it started slipping real bad, I think I may have gotten on it too hard too early. So I pulled that one and went with a factory replacement Perfection clutch from advance, drove it about 700 miles then on a real hot day it started slipping as well. What gives? Could it not be fully engaging? I drove it casually for over 500 miles and only got the rpms up on the highway past that. I haven't done burnouts or any kind of high rpm launch, I'm so frustrated.

Any fluids getting on the clutch disc? i don't have much experience with 420a but it sounds like possibly a rear main seal leaking...or transmission seal? Is the master and slave bleed properly and adjusted correctly? throwout bearing installed correctly?

Not to trash talk Perfection but I purchased a Perfection Slave and its been slowly leaking since I got it. It is my second one because the first one blew out. Ive also talked to another kid who bought a Perfection Clutch and he said the teeth broke off and scored the whole inside on the transmission. As far as slipping there might not be enough fluid in the trans. Theres no dip stick but if you call AutoZone or maybe even Advanced they can look up how much you need. I believe its between 2 to 3. I would try replacing the fluid first.

  • I'm leaning towards my clutch pedal not being adjusted right. In February I had a remanufactured transmission installed and the shop said something about clutch adjustments on the car. They installed a roll of washers between the slave and the bellhousing, not sure why. Ever since I got it back from them I've been having clutch issues. The motor only has about 15,000 miles on it, no visible leaks. I'm just sick of pulling my trans.
