Reason for the tilt?

Made things fit a little better when i was doing fitup with a half rad installed. I called precision and they said max angle is 15* and I'm at 7.2* so I'm not worried. It was probably a 5* before welding and things slightly moved as i was zipping it up. Stainless likes to move around as you weld.

I ended up getting an ebay mk3 golf rad (sirocco style) to fit inside the core support so it gave me a lot of room, this manifold is a prototype so if it doesnt work as i wanted or if i need to make space adjustments I'll make them on the next manifold for production. This is my first manifold ive ever done.

Your not the first to notice that. Though.

I figured it helped with your side exit exhaust but wasn't sure. It looks kinda cool too. Wish I had your welding skills! I'm a major novice, but plugging away in my garage as well. Hoping to eek out an ET slightly quicker than yours with my HX40 at the Shootout. My 3000 is pretty heavy though and my tune is mild, but the auto should help. We'll see.

Looking forward to seeing what the 6466 does for you! When's the move to AZ? You'll love it down there. Canadian's everywhere too;). Have several friends originally from Canada that live in PHX now.

I finished the manifold and side exit.

Only work thats left is porting, and dump tubes. I have two mishimoto slim fans on the way today for the mk3 rad.

So the list to get the car running is shortening!

1. Port manifold
2. Fab and weld dump tubes
3. Install and wire pusher fans
4. Change oil
5. Fill coolant
6. Tune that bi***

Manifold is looking good! :thumb: May not hurt to throw in a few gussets for support. Looks like some pretty nice tig work.
Thannks @psantiago I'm not worried about gussets or supports. Sch10 is pretty thick compired to 16guage tube manifolds. One runner only tacked by itself held my turbo and side exit with no issues at all. I opted for th sch10 over sch40 also for weight reasons. Supports attaching to the head flange (where most vibration comes from) is the reason for cracks that occur. All thats left is porting things out smoothly and thisnprototype is done as hell.

Excellent work. The manifold and car look great. I hope you achieve your goals.
Thanks man! Goal right now is just to get into the 10's and the shoot for 9.9 I'd love to eventually get a 150mph trap with this turbo, and I'd be happy if it put out/held together at 800-850whp but the motor was built tight so it probably won't last. I'm gonna give it a shot though!

I got to see the manifold in good daylight since completion. Sun brings out the colors. Here she is finished.

Awesome work Kyle, pretty damn cool how much you've developed your fab skills since leaving the PNW. Glad to hear you're so close to making the move back to the US and to a nice climate at that. Car is really coming back together after pulling the Holset setup, I'm excited to see how the motor holds up to the planned abuse. I just got my Eagle/Mahle block picked up and am hoping to be up and running by the end of the month too! I know MAP put 800whp through a set of the 4032 Mahles but have no idea of the rest of their setup/tuning. I don't think you're going to have any problem getting that car deep into the 10's after all the work that has been put in, just have to stay focused and dial her in!

And way to stick with the man pedal I don't care if all these Auto swaps hold all the power in the world and are the coolest thing since 3g lifters, driving a slush box is just not my idea of a DSM I'm trying to road race this biotch!

UPDATE!!

So I'll start off with thr bad news. Since installing the mk3 radiator i had to push the rad support up a little and it made the bumper hole for the side exit i fabbed up move from it's origional location, so i had to cut a second hole. Definately getting one of those cover plates for the side exit.

Also bad news when i was putting the turbo in fully assembled the t bolt clamp squished one of the rad plates and fins and may habe pin hole leaked. I did a boost leak test trick and sprayed soapy water on the damaged area and took the upper pipe off, plugged the filler neck and blew in and heard bubbles in the over fill. I know it's not a lot of pressure but all looked good. Gonna fill with water first.

Mooore bad news... Pte sent me the wrong adapter fitting for the feed and it doesnt thread into the hex nut:idontknow: And i seem to have misplaced a T bolt clamp, but other then that!! Turbo and manifold are in the car all hooked up and awaiting those two things, and an oil change and she will be ready to be fired up for the first time since october 2014, and if everything looks good, will be the first time driven since last july.

On to the turbo porn!

I made a temporary sch10 (way to thick) dump tube to clear the alternator with tight radius bends. Until i have time to do pie cuts which takes way to long and too much argon loss to justify on my little 55cf bottle. Enjoy the pix these are some of my favorite

Wow, kyle you're gettin damn good with that welder bro.
Can i make one suggestion? coat the hot parts with some ceramic coating like techline or whoever does it locally.
If you can't get that, send that stuff off for some nice black coating to keep temps down.
Looks absolutely perfect though. Very nice work. You are using the new(er) BC cams?

I forget but i had to find a fitting to adapt my PTE to 4AN. Not sure what the BB pte uses....
You shooting for what, 750+whp?

Thanks man! I'm not really shooting for a hp number my goal is 9's at 150 well see what happens. I will take it to the dyno some time this winter hopefully.

And no i still need to build the head and report those results, jist havnt had time with a bunch of stuff going on. I need to pull the head to install everything but i wanted to do some testing first on the 272's. Oh and I'll coat the manifold when it really starts to look like shit LOL i dont daily drive this car
