I bought a used set of FIC 1650's and sent them off for flow testing. They came back great. I installed them in my freshly built gsx and the won't spray. I even took off the fuel rail smd ziptied them on there to see if they sprayed. Nothing. So i slapped my friend's 850's on and they sprayed. What should I do? Send them off again?? Call FIC? Is there another way to test them?

You'd have to look them up but the stock injectors are 2-3 ohms and their resistors are 5.5-6.5 ohms. If your injectors are over 8 ohms I wouldn't be surprised if they require no resistors which would be the problem.

So I measured my injectors and all 4 of them measures 2.3 ohms. I also emailed FIC and they said to delete the resistor pack. So it seems like a contradiction, but it can't hurt to try I guess.

I've only heard to removing the resistor pack with high impedance injectors. One of the things the resistor pack does is protect the injector drivers from outputting too much current.

I'd verify the information before continuing.

I tried installing my low Z FIC 1650's on a fresh build but they won't spray. I swapped them out with 850's and they spray. So I know the electrical signal is there along with 43 PSI according to my AFPR. My injectors are fine, flow tested by FIC. I know since they are 2.2 ohms, that i still need the resistor pack, which i do have.

So, would one reason be that I need to change the voltage offset/deadtime numbers in direct access? Would not having the correct number allow my 850's to spray but not my 1650's? I did change it in the fuel table, but I don’t know if that will help with low voltage since the injectors don’t scale linear with voltage.

I have an eprom with V3 full BTW. And I know they are not spraying because i unbolted the fuel rail and ziptied the fuel injectors to it so i can visually see if they are spraying. The 850's had no problem spraying it seemed.

Thank you!

So I went into direct access and changed the battery adjustment thing for the injectors, set the global dead time to 0 and worked up till it started. Ended up at 200 milliseconds. She is not only spraying but idling! Happy 4th of July!
