Bought a evo 3 ported 16g for 289, rebuilt. Doesn't spin as freely because it has assembly lube and hasn't been ran. Ad below. Anyways only one thing concerns me is two of find are kind of bent but almost looks like intentional for clearance top blade and blade to right of it.

Eeeew! Yeah doesn't look good. I would think that even if it spins it will be out of balance and will have a very short life span. Since you have the 16g plateform and the turbo is still at a point where it can still be rebuilt get it rebuilt and enjoy it!

Compressor wheel's junk, and you can't use an upgraded-thrust parts kit without making a clearance modification to the bearing housing for the thrust washer to clear.

With the damage being primarily on one side of the compressor wheel like that, I'd suspect the shaft may be bent as well...something that would've definitely showed up had the assembly been rebalanced, though I'll guarantee it wasn't. Definitely one of those "if it seems too good to be true, it probably isn't" deals.

Totally agree with Justin above. That's one of the the issues of owning these cars. Its a very wide range of people that own them. Great deals do pop up often but a lot of the time the cheapest route is taken to save a few bucks. A few rpms/psi later you end up spending just as much if not more than just buying a quality piece in the first place.

Well it im going to ask for money back (good luck to mee right) but could i put in my mhi big 16g compressor wheel on? kinda running out of options

that doesn't look good at all, and I've never had assembly grease reduce the spin! I wouldn't use it, or I would at least send some pics to someone who rebuilds them. If you are in Facebook look up https://www.facebook.com/pages/Turbos-R-us/588471871241088. He should be able to tell you right away

I used Lucas assembly lube when I rebuilt my b16g and it wouldn't spin freely.. assembly lubes are pretty sticky and thick, so I'm not surprised it wouldn't spin freely if it's never been run. Picked up mine for 150, FP kit for 40, did the work myself, and it's been boosting at a set 19psi hard and happy and spins free *now*. Good deals can be bad..

That being said, that 16g is pretty toast.
