1G First gear going bad?

I already searched but i could not find a thread. whenever i accelerate or engine brake in first gear there is a clicking sound that clicks faster as i accelerate. every other gear does not click. i thought it was axles but as i clutch in first gear it goes away.the car shifts fine and drives fine. what could it be. help.
 
Manual trannies aren't built to engine brake in 1st gear .. period !

Bet you got 1st gear syncros getting grumpy on you due to 1st gear engine breaking.

That gear is made for just to get the vehicle moving from a full stop condition, then you 'row' through the rest of the gears to the last gear.

You keep doing that and you'll blow the input shaft's main bearing out.

Third gear is about as close you wanna get with engine breaking. Otherwise, use the clutch pedal to disengage the tranny and use the brake pedal to slow the crap down.

i am aware of this i ment to say on deccelration to describe the problem . your input was unecessary as the car came with a blow TOB you didnt help at all for solving the mystery tick
