This is probably a dumb question, but what is the part called that holds the front suspension in place and bolts up to the knuckle in a 1g? Does anyone know where i can find this part? :hmm:

This may be a ridiculous question, but I cannot find the answer anywhere.

I'm driving a 1995 Eclipse RS and the other day I started leaking coolant. I tried adding more and it all came right out, like I was just pissing on the car actually... Anyway, I watched and I can see the leak, I just have no clue what this peice is called or what it goes to.

Its the hose/pipe that immediately comes off the right of the radiator cap/thermostat housing and runs over the top of the exhaust manifold. I was hoping somebody knew what the part is called and how difficult it would be to replace it? I attached a picture, the hose in question is circled.

This isn't my engine just a photo I found online...

It's just a hard coolant line, I don't know if it has a specific name, and forget where it leads to but. If it's just that soft section that's leaking then pull it off and bring it to an auto parts store for size reference or measure it. Any auto parts store will sell coolant hose by the foot. Should be a really simple fix.

Looks like a little bit of rust on the line also. Go get a roll of hose the same size, get new clamps also as that one is warn out most likely. Sand the pipe down And just replace the hose.

Unless the pipe is cracked. Then you can remove the broken section and extend rubber hose with new clamps.

Good luck man, good night also

Thanks for the info. I'll go get that new hose.

And thanks 2gGst98, though that isn't a picture of my engine it's just a similar one I found online.

Just to add more info to the topic that line goes to the heater core inside the cabin for heat. The other one that goes to the lower hard line is the return.

Like they said above just get a new piece of heater hose and you will be good to go.

A lot of people (myself included) have swapped over to AN hone for that line to get rid of that hose connection.

Yea swapping it sounds like a good idea, I just wouldn't know how to go about it. I just think its a dumb piece and terrible placement, that manifold gets extremely hot.

I replaced it and everything is good. That last bit of hose was trashed it started tearing while I was pulling it out...

Though I do have a question for you: I purchased the car with a short ram intake on it, similar to the one in the picture you posted. My question is, there is a hose going from near the end by the air filter and it connects up at the intake manifold. What is that exactly...?

Anyone know what this part is called? I've highlighted it in the attachment.
I haven't been able to figure out the actual name/part number for this.
Thanks.

When mine was wearing out I sanded down all the old material and plastidipped over it. Showed no signs of wear when I sold it over a year later.

What is this connector called and where does it go? I pulled this pic from the engine bay connector forum on here, but the post wasn't very clear on where it plugs into. I can't seem to find the connecting end anywhere. Any help is appreciated!

I'm digging deep here, but I think it has something to do with A/C. I'm not 100%, though. I can say this (with 100% certainty), though: It's not necessary for the car to run/operate normally.

Ok sweet. That's exactly what I needed to know! Car won't start. I'm guessing. It's starter related. Fuel pump kicks on, but then nothing after that. No clicks, no nothing. Just wanted to make sure this plug wasn't super important.

That's not right at all. It is for camshaft angle sensor (CAS) for the 2Gb (that's '97-'99) models with the 4G63 which is very important and will prevent the car from running. Follow the intake cam to the passenger side of the head and there should be a sensor there.

You will probably have to run the 97 CAS and then things should be good. Has the motor ever ran in the car since you swapped harness's? There is a difference in the 95-6 and 97-9 wiring, I no my 98 Talon had a 95 fuse box in it and all sorts of things didn't work until I put the correct one back in it (only to have the car go down with a rod knock, god I seem to get the cars on their last leg).
