Yeah, i was under there looking today and it looks a bit tight, especially after putting an oil tank and pump for the oil back there, i think the way you did it is the only way. Why not just put an FP Black back there instead of that borg? 100 more whp and the hot aide is the same as the red, so you could leave the turbine housing bolted on and just swap the center section of the black right in. Unless youre wanting even more than that hehe
I think your right the FP Black looks like a much better way to go!!! If I can find a buyer for my FP Red I will be going for it. ;)

Thanks for the comps, I order a aluminum radiator yesterday. I broke the top hose fitting yesterday while doing some tuning. The plastic radiator is like dry rotted. You can brake it apart with your fingers.

Installed the new radiator today. After breaking the top rad hose off my original, dry rotted one. I'm Very happy with the quality and fit and the best part it was only $99.00:thumbup:

Update:
Can't stand the look of the Black Cherry Pearl paint and light grey seats so we painted them with some SEM Color Coat aerosol.

It took two cans per seat. Around $14.00 per can before tax.

What exhaust housing are you running?
Those mitsu housings will probably choke you out.

I switched from a 9cm2 t3 housing to a 12cm2 because of back pressure issues.
Biggest enemy for a compound setup

The high pressure 13g is just the stock turbine housing. The low pressure FP Red HTA is a 8 cm turbine housing. Back pressure hasn't been a problem. At 45psi intake I'm running around 46 to 47psi exhaust back pressure. This is far as I'm going to push it with this engine combination. The car feels really strong and I'm sure it will meet my goal to run a low 10 in the 1/4. I also have been doing some hill climb practice sessions and this is by far the best low end rpm torque DSM I have ever built. Its instant boost off on the throttle.

Wow, that's surprising!
I know what you mean by the instant boost, I had my setup on a 2.4, and I could make 20psi by 2900rpm.

I would love to try a hill climb with compounds! Get some video whenever you have a chance!

Also I forgot to mention this is one of the first Old School Reds that has a 61mm/82mm compressor wheel with the HTA cover and a 67mm/58mm turbine wheel on the hot side. So I think the large turbine wheel is defiantly helping with back pressure.

I can't even imagine what a 2.4L with compounds would feel like.LOL My 2.0L acts like a BBC now its really crazy!!!
One of the downsides of a compound setup is you can make a ton of boost at low rpm in which is good but you have to have the fuel to support all that low rpm torque. Right now I'm running pump gasoline mixed with VP C16 at a 60/40 mix to keep low rpm knock in check.

The hill climb testing I'm doing is crazy fun!!!!!!!!!!!! Where I live the hill is pretty close and very secluded (major advantage of living in no-where land).
I need to purchase a GoPro and get some video.;)

That looks pretty good. Does the seat have a chemical odor, or smell at all?
It had a odor for about a week then it went away. Its been very hot this year with our high temps averaging above 95*F so I think that help with getting the smell out.

super interesting build. neat to see a compound setup built for fun street use. would love to see a dyno graph of the power band.
Thanks!!!
I should have some dyno numbers in a month or two. Lucky for me Trevor Holland is only 30 minutes away from me and will be putting in a AWD dyno at his shop. ;)

I hooked up the Stream 7 to my car today after I received my micro to USB Host cable and Arkon mount.

After playing with it I'm very happy with the mount and the fact its not impairing my vision. I think I will still purchase a Bluetooth key board for the
F Keys that make navigating easy on some of the ECM Link features.

Does the stream 7 work well with ecmlink?

So far its working very well. The only thing that I don't like is the screen is a little to small, far as navigating touch. I'm going to get a bluetooth key board this weekend. That should help a lot. I will probably use the touch screen for start stream, stop stream and capture. Then pull over make adjustments with the key board. I do like the position of it verses my lap top sitting on the seat. Its high enough up that on sunny days its easier to see the screen then my lap top was.

Update:
Did some testing yesterday. Pump gas mix with 110 race fuel 35psi. Pulls great but I blew off a couple charge pipes. :(
Got them re beaded and holding so far. My home built boost tester for the FP red inlet cover.LOL Tuna its a great thing to keep in stock.

Today was a beautiful day so I went out to do some testing at our local street testing area.

When I showed up our local police was running radar, because this is also where the locals meet and do some prairie racing.;)

This is just a few blocks away from North Idaho College. Its our famous Coeur d' Alene resort on lake Coeur d' Alene.

My newest purchase is a low mile used FP Black for the low pressure turbo. I ran out of $$$ so I will have to wait for next year to race her.:( I need a Kiggly Flex plate, I destroyed two stock flex plates and I'm down to my last one. I also need bigger injectors, fuel pressure regulator, and a bigger low pressure waste gate.

I plan one driving her all winter long so I turned the boost down for some snow fun. Time to dig out the Blizzaks;)
