Alright guys probably a stupid question and I can't quite find an answer.

What down pipe do I get for my 2g with a 16g turbo? The car came with an ebay turbo, and external wastegate, so I need to get a new down pipe for the 16g and don't want to buy the wrong one. The car already has 3" magna flow exhaust so I just need the down pipe. The cat is after the down pipe, so its not attached to the down pipe.

This is my first 2g so I'm still learning on them.

Thanks!

It doesnt have an aftermarket downpipe? Isnt the wastegate just off of the o2 housing? If so, you'll just need a different o2 housing and it'll bolt right up. Could you take a picture? That'd help.

Here is some pictures, there is not an o2 housing, there is just a bung welded to the downpipe, the downpipe was hooked directly up to the hotside of the turbo.

I should add, that I am going to be using the 2g exhaust mani not that tubular junk.

I guess there is a better way to yield an answer to my question so I will reword it so it's not confusing as to what I am actually asking.

When people switch from the t25 to a 16g/14b can they use the same downpipe?
Will the same downpipe work for a 2g with a t25 vs a 16g?
Sorry if I made it confusing. I have only had 1g's and never a 2g until now.

I read that the 16g o2 housing will be at a different angle than the stock t25 angle, so that's the part I am concerned about.

thanks :thumb:

The angle of the o2 housing should be the same. Looks like you'll need a blockoff plate for that wastegate to use an MHI 16g, unless you block the internal flapper shut somehow or something. The OEM downpipe would work but is really tiny. Aftermarket is all the same. The only real difference is the charge piping, you need whatever J pipe that faces the right direction for your intercooler setup.

Ok thanks, that's all I needed to know about the angle of the o2 housing. I am going back to the oem exhaust manifold. I will order a downpipe now, thanks for your confirmation. I appreciate it :thumb:
