IHave no idea what is this part. All I can see that it is a plug that has the wires already exposed and its wrapped with aluminum paper which is coming off{This is how I bought the car}. This thing got my attention as this is a plug that is not connected to anything - just sitting there hanging out with the inner wires exposed.
Any one knows what is this part called and where does it connect it and where I can buy it?

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated

This is an A/C switch. Take a look at the second post in this thread: http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/1g-water-neck-inlet-aka-lower-water-neck.491210/

Thank you! Do they sell this in autozone or advance auto parts? eBay? What would be a good place to buy it from? I tried to search on eBay 96 eagle talon water temperature switch - results came up a bunch of different choices. Do I need to search for the tsi version water temperature switch or regular non turbo talon/eclipse water temperature switch will fit to my tsi talon as well?

I assume that when you say you searched on eBay for a '96... that you have a 2G car. If that is the case, that switch is useless. It is a 1G only part. Consider getting a 3/8" BSPT plug to remove it and clean up the housing a bit.

I have a 96 talon tsi - Is that considered to be a 2g car?
But any how, I can have it removed and clean up what's behind that switch and throw that switch away? What's behind that switch? If I throw it away then the housing is going to be sitting open?

Update: came across this with a friend{pics attached}.
Looks like there are 3 bolts missing and that whole manifold is being held by 1 bolt, and the gasket was hanging out and looked to be old and used up. Its possible that the car is not idling by itself and not staying on due to those 3 bolts not being there in manifold and the air escaping?
Any place where I can buy these 3 bolts for cheap? Dealer said $9 per 1 bolt. Took the bolt it to a local hardware store and they dont have it.
Would also appreciate if some one also could give me a link where I can buy a new gasket like the one that is sitting there between that manifold.
Any recommendation on in spark plug Wires as well as spark plugs?

Thanks in advance.

Most vendors here carry the gaskets, not sure on the thread size for the o2 housing to turbo bolts though

That's quite the exhaust leak you got there! If I remember off hand mine were M12x1.25x40mm? Idk yours might differ slightly. Most hardware stores have keys or will let you borrow a bolt to see if it fits. Make sure to get grade 8 (class 8.8) or better for the heat and use a little anti-seize if you have some.

Thanks for the links and sorry about the late response.
Those bolts dont go for cheaper than $7.92 per 1 piece? Dealer charges $9.50 and some change per 1.
Also the gasket in the car looked like it was a 2 piece{basically 2 same pieces standing against each other}, the one in the link that you included looks to be a 1 piece gasket.

Thanks for the reply, would home depot carry a bolt that would be heat resistant enough for a car?

Try a store like Fastenal. They carry all shapes and sizes of bolts, even grade 12. They also have th thread guage to make sure you get the right thread. I'm lucky enough to have one here in our small town. They know me as the metric bolt guy!

Good weekend to every one. Need some people suggestions here. I took out 02 gasket to do some inspection and noticed something weird.
The turbo housing has a big round hole and an oval shaped hole while the 02 housing manifold that connects to the turbo housing has a big round hole and an oval shaped hole. Arent both parts supposed to have matching holes? Or is this supposed to be like this?
Which gasket do I get?
The old gasket{2 piece} that was sitting there was pulled out.

Pics attached.

Would appreciate some input on this.
