Hey guys, just recently I put the engine back into my car and I noticed that it is "off". The engine is slightly tilted to the left and the heat reflector (the one that bolts onto the exhaust manifold) barely hits against the cooling fan. I turned on the car and it runs just fine. The engine mounts are all on correctly, so why is it that the position looks weird? I don't have any pictures right now but hopefully some of you guys can suggest the cause and fix.

P.S.: I read that bad motor mounts can cause the engine to droop down a few inches. If that's the case, then which motor mounts are recommended for someone on a budget but something that'll last a long time?

Edit: Just added pictures. Scroll down below to view my reply with the picture links.

If your engine is not sitting in the bay correctly you are probably putting added alignment stress on your drive line, which is very bad.

Throw up some pictures if you can. If your mounts are bad replace them. You can get them just about anywhere.

A set of Prothane motor mounts is the cheapest. I know you can find them used around here, and they're not too expensive brand new.

Looks like they're $83 from STM, and I'm sure anyone else could match that. If you look for used, then I would pay no more than $50 for a set. Hope this helps.

If the motor isn't sitting right something is wrong. Might start up fine but it'll put stress else where like the drive train. Post some pictures up and let's See what's going on. Best way to start.

I believe this is the part we are looking at guys and gals.
It is possible that it is in upside down due to the offset. This was a junk piece out in my yard and I own a 1g LOL. I think it was my sons. I would think that the bolts would go in from the top myself. This is on a 2g right?

Alright, from what you guys said, it is possible that the mount is upside down. Currently im working on seeing if it really is. Here's a picture of it right now:

And yes this is a 2G, 97 RS non turbo

I just confirmed that it is upside down. Im very positive this is the culprit to why my engine is tilted and the clearance between my exhaust manifold and cooling fan is minimal. It makes sense to me and I will work on it ASAP. I'll let you guys know how it goes and post pictures after installing it the right way. Many thanks for the quick responses.

EDIT: Mount is on correctly and the engine is back to looking as it should! Thanks everyone for the help. I will post pictures tomorrow or later today to show you just because! :)
