Was that test fit with the new convertor? I remember you saying you did it with the older one that wasn't the right one.
It should spin freely before you slide it into the crank bushing.
Once you line up the bolt holes with the pads on the tc, inch it into the crank bushing. It should still be easy enough to turn to line the holes up. There's no reason to turn it more then an inch once you have the holes lined up.
I guess I'm confused on why you need to turn more.
 
Transmissions is in ! It was spinning smoothly,then I bolted up t.c. And The 1/2 gap between the t.c. Mounting pads pulled together when I tightened the bolts . Everything seems to be good I hope.
