Car jerks when shifting from park to reverse or drive, and while driving won't go above 50mph or shift into any other gear is it a bad solenoid or should I buy a rebuilt trans or a rebuild kit also doesn't go into low gear or 2 or overdrive

You could have a bad transmission mount...have someone run through the gears while you look at the mounts and see if your transmission moves. I would also check your fluid level make sure she's not low, I know that would cause bad shifting not sure if that would cause it to jerk though.

It is an automatic and I already planned on getting a new set of mounts considering the jerk I have already watched it move.. But for now I'm trying to find out weather I need a new transmission or if it's just something simple like the solenoid or low fluid I'll check in a moment and let you know

Does the Transmission shift into overdrive? How many times does it shift start to finish and whats the RPM at 50?

When was the last fluid change?

Have you checked the TCU for any codes?

Sounds to me either the End Clutches(OD) May be shot or the TCU may not be functioning right.

No it does not shift into overdrive. the rpm at 50 is between 3k and 4k and the in car boost gauge shows the boost maxed out. I just got the car and havent done a fluid change yet nor do I know when the last one was and I cant check the fluids due to the fact that I cant find the dipstick for the trans.. Can you please tell me where it is. I dont know where tcu plugin is to hook it up and read codes. And is there a vacuum transmission shift module on this car if so I think that could be the problem due to the fact that a vacuum line going from the intake line between the air filter and turbo isnt hooked up and I cant see where the other end is. It goes from the intake line around towards the back of the engine and down. Also the valve cover gasket is blown.. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

The transmission dipstick is right in front of the trans mount the bolts to the frame rail and where the shift cable connects to the gear selector lever. At this point I would assume its the just then end clutches shot. Does the Trans shift act normal other than that? Im unsure of what the vacuum transmission shift module would be, unless you mean like a road surge or force four shift box. I would also say that, that vacuum line went to the wastegate on the turbo, thats why boost is maxing out.

Can I buy an end clutch or a rebuild kit. and I'm assuming from the description that the dipstick is under the car.. A vacuum shift module is something from a different car I was working on.. And yes it acts just fine besides not shift from first gear. and the vacuum line Im talking about connects to the 2 or 3 inch piping befor the intake point on the compressor of the turbo there are 3 or 4 lines they all are hooked up accept this one that goes to the back of the engine a few inches past the turbo meaning it would have to do a 180 to get back to the turbo

So i finally found the trans dipstick almost underneath the air intake box and the trans was WAY over filled at a cold temperature it was sitting above the hot line could this be the issue I'm going to drain it tomorrow and add new in little bits at a time can someone tell me how much and what type of fluid to use on a 95 eclipse gst

Check the fluid warm and in neutral. Use ATF +4. as for the vvac line thats hard for me to say. ALSO you say your car is stuck in first (or second)??? if so thats prob a bad TCU. If it has all the gears and shifts properly except into OD then its prob end clutch related. If it only has one gear the whole time I would ASSSUME its the TCU but no way to tell for sure unless you check the TCU codes.

Man how do I read those codes do I need to take it to a shop is there a handheld I can buy to read the codes for me.
