Hey,
I'm having a starting issue that I see has been resolved by other DSMers by replacing the ignition switch. I don't want to have to replace my keys and I found a part that looks like I would't have to do that.

Is this the part that is responsible for people getting a no start condition? Basically you hear one loud click and nothing else. If i keep turning the key a bunch of times, the car will eventually fire up no problem.

Or do I need to replace the entire assembly like the one shown here?

It's under the hood. There's a few threads on here describing the same problem where people fixed the issue by replacing their ignition switch.

Everything is new. Including the relay. New battery, starter, relay, and grounds.

Do you have an active clutch switch? Assuming you are 5 speed. Possible intermittent switch or worn rubber plug att the pedal.

If the master key activates the other car its not ignition switch or the lock cylinder to start the car. The battery relay & MPFI relay for the fuel pump could cause too. Which engine are we talking about???

The car used to be auto so there's no clutch switch. The relays are good to go. I'm thinking it has to be my ignition switch.
