Hey! My motor recently blew (month and a week ago) on my eclipse Rs. Bought a new motor. I have the new motor in my bay already and Most of everything else in. But I won't start! :(

No light or anything, bought brand new battery too. New brakes tie rods, control arms, motor mounts, tranny mounts ect ..

I think I may have done the wire harness wrong or idk. I bought my motor from LKQ and they said my old harness should go right on the same as the old motor.. But i dont think its working that way. I've had to switch a few things to make plugs work.

Also I'm not aure if I connected the fuel lines. Like ik where they are under the car and I have a guess where they lead hut not exactly sure.

Not many people around me, acatully no one I know has an eclipse. So yeah.. No help there..

And I'm getting quite discouraged! Any tips, things I may be missing?

There's just one fuel line that hooks into the back of the head as far as I know. You should remember some fuel spilling out of it. I think it's metal with two small bolts that go on either side of the end for connecting to the fuel rail.

I've never messed with the wiring harness in our cars so I don't know why you aren't getting any electrics. I'd look at every wire you touched on the car and see if there's anything strange going on. Sorry I couldn't help more. Swapping your first engine is no small undertaking.

No its fine thanks for the info.

And the fuel line, the back of the head? I'll try it in the morning. I really dont remember gas spilling out but I do recall a bad potent smell so probablly that.

It's a lot harder than people will have you first believe haha. I read one article where a guy was pretty much like Step 1: Buy head gasket; Step 2: Make sure to refill engine with oil and go for a test drive

It's that simple!!!
