So I'm looking at getting a set of 18x8 Drag DR63's and I can get them in either a 35mm or a 48mm offset. I was thinking of getting the 48mm and just using something like an 8mm spacer if needed. I am lowered with K Sport coilovers, no big brake kit. What do you guys think? Also, anyone have the DR63's?

Go 35mm. If you don't need to run a spacer why would you?
Because I've been reading that 40mm would be ideal and that 35mm may put the tire (depending on tire size) into the fender. If I went with a 48m offset, I'd at least be able to control how far out I move the wheel instead of not being able to move it in if I needed to since 35mm may rub the fender. I have extended ARP wheel studs and if I used a spacer it would be hub centric. Am I wrong thinking this?

A stock evo wheel has a 35mm offset and those work without issue. Our fitment guide at work (Discount Tire) says anything from 35mm to 42mm is ideal.

I was actually ordering them from discount tire online, can you hook up a better deal? :) I am understanding this correct though right? 35mm moves the wheel toward the fender, and 48mm would move the wheel toward the knuckle, right?

Stock evo offsets are actually 38mm.

Upon further inspection of my wheels you are right, thanks for the correction :) and powellds2 unfortunately I'm not affiliated with DTC Direct so I'm of no help sorry. I would also recommend looking into the DR-34 as I've test fit a set in silver that a customer uses as his winter wheels on his Evo X and they look very good.

Stock evo offsets are actually 38mm. You're backwards on how offsets work, stock dsm offset is 46mm, if that same rim was a 35mm offset, it would be moved outward toward the fender. If that same stock rim was 48mm vs 46 it would be moved inward.

Wait, I have it backwards? Because you're saying the same thing I did...

Oh, I guess I read your post backwards, sorry dude. In my defense I hadn't had my morning coffee yet :p at least the links are helpful :D
Lol, it's all good man, I thought I was really confused. I had stayed up all night, so I wasn't sure what my own eyes were seeing, I had to read everything about wheel offsets and tire sizes about three times before my brain accepted it in.. I'm still torn on what offset I should get. I'm afraid if the 35mm is too far into the fender, there will be nothing I can do about it, but like I said, at least I can space out the 48mm if need be.

I was also looking at these as well. Still think I'm going with the dr63's. Just still don't know if I should go 35mm offset or 48mm..... Anyone?

Just pulled the trigger and went with the 35mm offset. Thanks for all of the input everyone. :) I'll post up some pics as soon as I get them one. Should look pretty good.

Just got my wheels today. 18x8 +35mm. So I'm trying to decide on which tire to get, 235/40's? or 225/40's? Anyone care to comment? Also, again, lowered on ksport coilovers. I will add some pics here shortly.

I run 18x8 +35mm on 235s on the front and 18x9 on the rears. I am pretty low and I rub hard. Bad enough I cut out the rear fender lip and still rub. The front fender has shaved a good deal of rubber from my 235s and I've hit a pot hole and put a crease in my fender.

+35mm and 235 will need fender roll on front and cut rear fender lip if you are dumped low. 225s would've made my life easier. It will all depend on how low you are though. I am tucked on TEINS.

I run 17x8 +35mm Drag Dr-31's on 235/45/r17 and they fit the fender well perfectly, no poke. They are flush with the body lines. The rear fender lip will need cut for me and I'm not even low. The bumps are enough for it to cut into my tire.

Damn starting to think I should have gone with the +48 offset version and just used a 5mm or 8mm spacer...

So what tire size you guys think will work the best with the 38 offset? I really didn't want to have to cut the fenders, I figured I might have to roll them or raise it up a little, but not cut them.

235s-Well you can't really roll the rears. Look at te inside lip. They have to be cut. Rolling the fronts will work if you raise up a bit on how low you are. Should work.

225s- should work fine if you like a little stretched tire look.

Not sure how low I am since been over 10 years now. The front bumper is probably about 4 inches off the ground on my 17's, and I hate the stretched tire look... should I have gone with the 48mm offset?

4" seems good. I'm at 2.

I would throw the 235s on and call it a day. You might run into a little rub when pushing hard or on bad roads but rubbin's racin'- welcome to low life :)

I think you made the right choice with the 35 offset. My biased opinion.

Thanks for the input :) So, do you think I should go 235/40 or 235/45? I'm thinking 235/40.
