That's why I'm asking if every body is ok with a machine shop doing a pressure check, warpage check, and surfacing.

Oh also I need to spend 102.00 on a new oem hydraulic tensioner unless someone has one laying around. The 533, 102mm long version.

Honestly, you were not overheating, nor using/losing coolant. so you can get away with out the pressure test.

Get the head checked for warp' mill as needed
Inspect guides and seats
Lap in the new valves
Check tip height
Install the new valve springs, What part number ST springs do you have?
Bleed the HLAs
use a composite head gasket

Replace your hydro tensioner
Inspect/replace the idler pulley and mech. tensioner pulleys

I'd take from what BogusSVO said.

"Get the head checked for warp' mill as needed

Print this list and tell the guy at the machine shop this is what you want done.

MAKE SURE you bleed the HLA's. I didn't.....bent valves before starting. Thanks to Bogus for the tip on that and make sure you do it, don't end up like me. Appreciate you DALE!!!

Sorry but I have to call this one out. You don't have money for the rebuild were suggesting but you have other new threads for air filters and gm mafs that you plan on buying and installing?

Your fine. The maf translator was free along with the gm mas...And along with other parts that are usless to me(selling them for rebuild money) and the air filter was bought for 11.

I'd rather not. I still have a 4 bolt LSD that I'd like to sell for 100 which would get me up to 310.00

I also have a t-case and 25 spline 4 bolt rear axles, but they are pending sale. There's a 2g manifold as well, but no one on the three sites have gone for the manifold.

Update, found a shop and since he goes to my dad's shop he said he'll check for warpage, surface, check for cracks for 65. It blew my mind when he said that.

well that's good get that thing check out and go from there when I started I couldn't find a good head after a few found one and off to the machine shop she went.

Update. Head needed matching between cylinders. Also Jim(owner of shop). Said that the valve seats could be lapped, but they would probably still leak so I'm getting the valves seated and grinded. 265.00. So yeah. And I'm currently bleeding lifters...fun.
