Id seriously go in there and see if they will wipe that credit, or fix their mistakes! If they act hard tell them they shall not receive another dime from you on their work since you are re-doing it and then some!

If they give you any shiznit, Better Business Bureau complaints works wonders!

Save every receipt, everything you can, in-case you want to take this to small claims court!
Documentation is the key!

You can reuse stock six bolt head bolts. Arps are not a requirement especially since you're on a budget.

Will they hold 15 psi. Right now it's on 10. Yes I lowered the boost. (15 is after everything is gone through and head gets 300 or 500 miles on it, unless I don't have to break it in?)

Little off topic, but my OCD noticed that when I reinstalled my hood it's 1 Or 2 cm towards the passenger side. And I'm sorry that I do jump around with topics. I don't have friends to talk to so....kinda talk to every one here....even though they probably and seem to care more for the car. (It's fine, this site is pretty much just for the cars Anyway)

Just some friendly information.

Make new threads for different things :)

So keep this thread about timing and related stuff pertaining to the Job.

Search first for your question, if you can't find an answer, then make another thread for Say the hood gap!
put any gap or hood related stuff there!

Say you have an issue with your lower control arm, make a new thread :)

Being organized helps, and it helps users help you by knowing what's going on. If I see a timing thread and open it up seeing crap about suspension and what not, I probably won't read or help on that, even though I could have the answer!

That is a good point.....And contradicts what someone yelled at me about, but alright.

Yay, piston and head pictures.

Yep. They pretty much f****d you good. Did they at least kiss you first?

Looking at the pistons. I didn't see any cracks. Could the pistons be useable after I pull them and completely check for cracks, or are they just trash.

I suspect they're usable. I don't usually hear of anyone else with skipped timing doing anything but head/valve work. Unless they take the opportunity of a torn apart engine to just build it up.
Take it easy, one step at a time.

Definitely file a complaint with the BBB about this shop.

You may have gotten lucky and not bent your valves, but your machine shop will be able to tell you for sure.

Don't take your pistons out. If the valves didn't leave marks, then there's no cracks from hitting them. Stop where you're at and research what you feel is relevant. If you haven't already, check out VFAQ.com for T-Belt walk-throughs and lots of other maintenance and modification how-to's. Learn how to use google to find answers to questions. For torque specs, search for "1g dsm torque specs" on google. There's 2 versions available right here on tuners. Learn to use a search engine well and there won't be many problems you have a hard time figuring out.

Have fun with it if you can. Don't rush things, and don't half-ass things. If you want to see someone working on these motors, search Jafromobile on youtube, he has a lot of really helpful and informative videos. Just be sure to not use any torque specs that he suggests that include "+1/4 turn" on your 6-bolt.

Bro. I have bent valves, I have valve dents in the pistons. Mowers f***ed my car. I'm not a professional, but I can see. There shouldn't be any type of gap in between the valve and head.(when they are shut)

My bad. It looked like just the valve reliefs in the pistons the first time I looked through.

Yeah. Well at least next time it jumps. Hopefully those dents are deep enough where I'll just lose complete compression and it just dies without killing my valves.

Those indentations are normal on the pistons...for the most part. Fresh ones around the indentations arent

They are a dish piston, you just have a ton of carbon/crud build up

better way would be to rotate the engine a touch so all 4 pistons are at mid stroke, then cover with something like marvel mystery oil over night then wipe off.

1g/6 bolt pistons will be marked 63DT

Look around the forum, and you will see you are not the first to ding the pistons, you will rotate the engine again and buff the high spots off and you will be able to bolt a new/rebuilt head on.

Thanks. And look what the previous owner lost inside the cylinder head. This washer which was replaced. Was found being crushed by a spring. -_-
