Hey guys.
I'm hitting up auto club in feb and would love to see more DSM/Gvr4 guys out there with there car on the track. I know there are Socal guys that do track day.

Hit me up or say that you have payed already or something. We have a whole sub section dedicated to this stuff we need more people out there or atleast talking about it with proof they have been there

I would but, I am too busy being in Colorado being all kinds of awesome with my bad self.

Great video, 338vr4!!

So glad to see other DSMers road racing their cars. Rain can be a challenge, but it looks like you handled it well. My first ever pro race was in the pouring rain. Eventful run to say the least. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts and road racing experiences.

Thanks.
First time being on the track in over 5 years and having the car ran like that in about the same amount of time.
I had way more grip then i thought i ever would. I had so much fun running in the rain there and blasting past other cars.

Next up are some wilwood 4 pistons and thats about it. a little ducting here and there then run the crap out of it again.

Four piston calipers will definitely improve the stopping power no doubt. You also looking at upgrading your master cylinder and brake booster at the same time? What pads are you running all the way around on the track?

master cylinder/boost no... You have any recommendations ? Im running the wilwood pads "BP-20" right now i have the porterfield r4se???

I prefer Hawk pads myself, as they offer many contingency programs around many of the sanctioning bodies. But, I do like their pads as well. My go to set up in the TSi has nearly always been Hawk HP+ pads in the front and Hawk HPS pads in the rear.

The HP+ pads are a higher temperature performing pad and will squeal pretty good if you use them for DD duties until they warm up. However once they are at temperature, they offer better braking (to me) than other pads we have tried and less fade throughout longer running sessions.

Something to look into maybe for your car as well.

Ha, sorry ... I know when we do/did the bigger GSX brake upgrade on the 2G here, we went with a 2G DSM master and booster as I had read the OEM 2G was not enough for the newer set up.

I'd do some research to see if you can get away with something like without having to spend too much money on some ridiculous set up that you may not even really need.

I'm really surprised that pad setup worked out for you. I'd say those are considered very mild (almost street) pads to a lot of racers. Hell, my last car didn't even like hawk blues (burned up a set in <2 hours) with bigger brakes than 2 piston DSM and in a lighter car. HT-10s gave us the best combo of performance and longevity but we still would be under 50% left after 7 hours of racing.

For the occasional track car, hawks are good. I don't use them anymore in endurance racing though, and won't be on my DSM with Cobra front brakes.
