I ordered mine from Miller Import Parts. Nobody who was parting out an AWD car was willing to get under and drill out all the spot welds. Steve gave me a great deal and shipped them out quickly.

Thanks man, I drove her around today and gave a good family friend some audio business and got a new kenwood deck installed as well as had the speaker issue fixed (Couldn't hear any sound but stock stereo turned on) I also picked up a nice upgrade for the future I'll update tomorrow with a pic :)

Here's my surprise :) Couldn't pass up the deal I got on them They'll be sitting for a while but I'll eventually send them to Justin at Detective Coating for a full rebuild and powder coat ;)

Hey thanks for telling me about millers. I got a set of those brackets for $125 shipped. Which is great because no one else wants to cut them off.

Got an update! Finally got my custom license plates! :D

I wasn't able to install my passenger door trim piece that matches the sideskirt because my fender was bent and wouldn't allow my door to open without popping it off, I had sourced an OEM fender from a local Utah dsmr that was in perfect shape just needed paint (Which I will have done eventually)

I removed the stock fender (Which ended up being more of a pain in the butt because the two bolts under the car were rusted, I managed to get one off and saved the threads the other snapped off as soon as it started spinning :/ pictures of where it had some damage, I'm assuming a ball joint snapped on this car at some point because this fender was bad

Here's the new (Used) fender installed along with the door trim piece and end cap :)

That's all for now stay tuned!

Welp did some work on the ol spyder today, didn't take any pictures sadly :(

I had noticed a leak from input shaft gasket on the transfer case and finally switched that gasket out.

While I was down there I noticed the transmission was leaking from where the end case meets the middle case and the middle to the last case, Shitty news :( the builder came to my house a few weeks ago and we tried to reseal the end case which was where it had originally started to leak. When he took that section off it managed to break the seal between the second and third cases and now it's seeming to be seeping out from there. It will need to come back out and taken to him so he can clean and reseal it, Hoping to do this within the next few weeks and get it back in, crappy set back but it is what it is.

I had ordered a set of rear speakers to replace the stock ones I had installed last year and finally got around to doing that today and they sound great, I researched a bit to make sure I bought some that wouldn't need any modification to the speaker brackets or the body itself. These fit perfectly with zero modifications and sound great :)

Overall a productive/depressing day LOL

All this looks so familiar! Converted my GST to awd last summer.

Love that you're converted it to Talon trim!

Nothing really new has been going on with the spyder. I did drop the trans again and take it back to the builder so I'm just waiting for it to be done and have it installed again.

Been a while since my last update, Not much has really happened. I developed a bad exhaust leak between the manifold and turbo, went to take the manifold off and all 4 bolts snapped. Tried to get the studs out and nothing worked including heating it up with a torch. Found another housing installed the turbo and that's how shes sitting now.
It's hard to say but I've lost nearly ALL motivation to work on this car, It's getting harder and harder to justify keep her around. I put her up for sale yesterday only to have my wife talk me out of it for the time being. We'll see what happens from here to spring time.

I've posted mine for sale a few times out of frustration and such. My wife and a goof friend have talked me out of selling it each time. Just organize a good plan for it, and start the journey again ;)

The problem isn't necessarily frustration mostly just seeing a half finished project that still needs a lot of money invested and not knowing if I'll ever be willing to invest that much more into it. Almost like cutting my losses now instead of investing more and then deciding to get rid of it. I do know one thing for certain, this will be my last DSM, I can't invest into these things anymore.

Haha I added everything I have into mine and i wanted to drown my self in a porta shitter.

Every single thing i try to do to this car is the most difficult job ever. Im not saying the car is built like crap or designed poorly, but every time I try to get something done it's a no go. I've worked on cars for years and have replaced transmissions in crappy conditions. On this car I get my ass handed to me every single time.

I finally got my motor back from the shop. I have 5 grand in a fully built head to toe stroker motor. As a disclaimer That's from kiggly girdle to cams and cam gears.

To top it off I found out I'm having a baby in June and this dream just got a little further away

Bottom line I can totally relate to everything you're saying. You're also in good company cause I'm in the same boat. If the cars not costing you anything to keep. I would push it to the side. take some time apart and see how you feel in a couple months. That's just what I did and I feel better about it now. Godspeed fellow DSM'r

I'm glad to have support and someone who feels the same way. It's costing me nearly nothing since I only have liability on it. Once my plates expire in march is when I'll really have a decision to make. Realistically I would make a lot more parting it out and just scrapping the shell, Not many people in Utah will want a convertible car. I am going to wait until at least spring to figure out what I want. I need to install the drain line and put the exhaust back on and then it'll be in driving condition again.
