Hey all, long time on-looker ,first time poster. I have a weird issue with my TPS and I'm not sure what its telling me. First off car is 95 GSX. I recently finished my 6 bolt swap complete with RRE Harness ,1g cas, and a kiggly kit. Injector wires have been inverted at the ecu. I did not however swap to the 2g ISC. The car runs great hitting on all four , timing perfect, but at idle the car sounds like its cammed LOL. If I unplug the tps and plug it back in it will momentarily idle to perfection, but 3 secs later its cammed again. I am familiar with tps settings and have set it about 20 times to no avail. Keep in mind this motor ran perfectly in my 1g for over 2 years setup just how it is now.
Thank you for your time, Tony

NP man I appreciate the feedback as this has me stuck I know its something stupid. Motor is a 6bolt bored .50 over with 2g pistons , stock head and valvetrain, 1g intake ,1g TB,1g coilpack, 2g IAC ,1g EGR(wondering if should swap this out for the 2g), 2g injectors, rail,FPR. Map sensor is NOT hooked up but plugged in. Car idles at the right RPM, just literally sounds like its cam loping at idle. Once you throttle it immediately responds and smoothes out. I just pulled the case and rechecked my timing its dead on. Also rechecked firing order for 1g in a 2g and its spot on. Again RRE cas harness, as well as inverted injectors wires at the ecu. When I unplug the tps and plug it back in will also smooth out for a sec then back to loping. I'm so confused it seems like its off time a hair but its dead on. Thanks again laser for your time I need outside input on this I'm stuck.

Probably won't be much help but I'll grease the wheels for the next guy.
Whats the deal with the motor, is it all stock?
Are you running link?
Did you test the tps?
No link and TPS Tested out good, which I know doesn't always mean its good

Have you taken it for a drive or rev'd the engine? Does it run bad throughout the rpm's. I had an issue with the running rich thing on a 1g I had it turned out to be the maf was shot. What maf are you running?

Sorry it was supposed to say brake booster vac line. I dont know if there is a difference in pressure between throttle body and the brake booster line.
Well I'm gonna try to figure that out as there is no provision for it on my 1g manifold. Will the mdp cause it to run like that though isnt it for emissions?

No it has great response , just at -1k RPms experiencing problems , when i let off the throttle it kinda stutter steps like its off time ,
Stock 2g MAF

guys made huge progress on this. I have never seen someone with this problem before, and I've narrowed it down to the MAS. I realized that at idle the stock boost gauge was raised over the half way mark , I.E. ecu drowns motor in fuel. Tried different MAS same result, but when mas isn't connected to turbo, idles PERFECT, connect MAS back to turbo and bam its cammed LOL.

Was your MAF seeing boost at idle? This is definitely my problem, I'm going to try and reset my TPS . Can anyone tell me where the RPM signal is derived from on a 2g ?

Nice at least your getting closer; with a 6 bolt swap i believe it would be from the cas (cam) most people say the black cas from 93/94 work best

You did check the ignition timing with a timing light?
Do you have an actual boost gauge? If so what does the vacuum read at idle?
I bet you are having a vacuum problem.

Got my hands on another MAS today, BAM hole in one runs like a dream. Thank you very much for the replies , its always nice to have someone help when you are stuck. :)
