I would check for the date code. They sound pretty old as there aren't many places that have them available. They were made by Sigma. As tires age, they are less effective for their application. Snow tires harden over time which defeats the purpose of having them in the first place.
Are you just looking for a set of snow tires?
What do you normally drive in?
Deep snow and slush: General Arctics or Winterforce are Popular (These can have a bit of road noise)
Ice conditions: Michelin X-Ice
General Purpose: Dunlop WS series (tend to wear quickly)

If price is not an issue, I would look into Nokian Tires. They also make great tires for different applications.
Helpful tips for winter tires:
  • Get a dedicated set of rims for snow tires.
  • For deeper snow and slush, thinner is better.
  • If you can go with a smaller rim with a taller sidewall, do so. Tires are much cheaper this way.
