Here is the question! I have a 97 donor car AWD AUTO that is going in a 95 gst manual,
Do I have to change the wiring harness or can I use the one in the gst?
I know call me crazy but I am 59 and still in the game.

You kids and your cars. I'm 70 and still in the game and I'm not the oldest member of the site. TunaTalon is the oldest I think.

To help answer your question, I know you will need the wiring to hook up the TCU for the tranny. Have you researched everything that is required to swap your GST over to an AWD? Not really as simple as swapping the rear ends over. Floor pan is different, gas tank on the GST is in the way, etc. I'm strictly 1G so things may have changed in the 2G line.

Thanks for the reply
Yes a lot of research has went in to the swap, just wasn't sure about the wiring, I have a complete auto harness but as you know it is a pain in the a** to change

The auto transmission will require controls that the 5 speed computer won't provide. I would be surprised if you don't have to run extra wires or get a different harness all together.
I am running a AEM system will it work with the auto?

I took my fwd auto turbo and made it an awd auto then an awd manual so it would be opposite for a few things. You will need the engine harness from the auto car so the trans solenoid connections will go in. You will also need the auto rear diff, auto front axles and front half shaft since its a different length and obviously the auto transfer case. Will also need the tcu, and the awd fuel tank, rear subframe and the subframe mounting bolts. The bolts will need to be cut out. Also will need to drill out all the center drive line carrier bearing mount spot welds(single biggest painintheass)

And to add, the tcu only needs input from the tps, throttle position switch, vss from dash, and rpm. Power also. Just finished the wire on my 1gb laser. I just hacked out an auto harness and combined them.

Yes, it will. The AEM EMS(if that's what you mean) has controllable outputs to shift the transmission up and down. A seasoned AEM EMS tuner should be able to set that up for you easily. TBH I wouldn't bother with the TCU at all. Just wire up the kiggly manu-matic shifter, or just wire the two solenoids into a couple toggle switches and save yourself some time, money, and headaches. While you have the trans out, and if you go with either of these two options, pull up the kiggly racing site, go to the technical pages, and read the article about adjusting the transmissions line pressure/valve body properly to extend the life of the clutches and transmission. Doesn't take long, it's super easy to do, and is worth it.

Jeff bush was the first to find that the aem can be wired to shift your car for you they sell the .cal file at english racing

Thanks for the info, A friend at inline racing told me the same thing.

I forgot to mention I have a like new twin disc clutch and 6 bolt flywheel I would like to trade for a t3 manifold!

just curious, wouldnt it be easier to just toss the motor in the gsx shell you have?

Inline racing? Houston? They did my head. Very nice work.

Inline racing, good people.
If you know anyone in need of a clutch masters twin disc setup I have one with very low run time on it, That I would like to trade for a good T3 T4 manifold, but not any eBay crap

The gsx was hit in the front, so the body is not very good, the gst I have has complete new paint and interior so it is a lot nicer.

ah i see, personally i would try to make the swap easier, but even for insurance purposes a gst is less spendy than a gsx.

my gs had a full from gst clip on the front, done write and my insurance is way less for a gs than a gst
