11.605 at 126mph on pump gas. Full boost 2800-3000 rpm depending on gear. No special parts needed to bolt it on. You buy it, you bolt it on, you run 126mph, you drive it home on pump gas.
Pulls were done on a dynojet.
EMS - Evo ecu
Engine - 6 bolt bottom end, BSE, 20 over??? top line pistons, FP2 cams, stock intake manifold, NT throttle body
Fuel - E85
I think I'm getting a good amount of power out of this turbo. I went 126mph on 93 octaneat 25psi.
With 420 on a dynojet I went 122 mph. Then I added a little bit of timing (still on E85) and went 124mph a couple weeks back.I also wanted to add that I think my results are inline with others.
I'm getting lost here danl, what fuel are you running exactly? I keep seeing pump and then the next post I read its E85 or you keep mixing it up?

You must have some freak ass car, my setup isn't putting up near as good of trap speeds as your car with nearly the same setup but I'm on 100% E85 and running 30psi.

:dsm:

I was on E85 but last track outing switched to 93 octane. I got the E85 injector goo and it caused the car to not run right. I then put in the 1000cc injectors from my evo into the DSM to go racing and filled it up with 93 octane just to get it to the track. It ran faster and trapped higher.

Are you running meth? or is it just because you have a really good intercooler that you can run that much boost on 93 octane? I dont have E85 here, only 94 octane gas. And I have an inefficient ebay intercooler.

Also would you recommend fp2 cams? or would you have gone a different route if you were to put in different cams?

No methanol. The JM Fab FMIC is very good, IAT's are ambient at all times. I have never ran anything other than FP cams in my personal car and the same with my friends car. I can't comment on any other cams as I have not tried them. I don't wish to have any other cam, I just want to buy stuff that I know works and go racing.

What injectors were you running on the initial dyno results? You said you switched to the 1000cc's so what did you have in before? Just out of curiosity.

Danl, congrats on the results!

I'm looking into running a 68HTA in the near future so I got a few questions.

What exhaust manifold/O2 housing are you using?
Is anything ported or clipped?
On the 1000cc injectors, what you IDC?
What do you have for ignition? factory, COP?
What number are the FP cams you have? (272, etc)
Anything you would change in your setup?

I run the FP exhaust manifold with the turbine housing port matched to it. Nothing is clipped. I don't know the IDC's as the logger wasn't working at the track that day. Ignition is a dynatek ARC-2 but the stock ignition is fine. FP2 cams on stock cam gears are in it. I don't want to change anything mechanically. Instead I'm just going to get a ton of passes in next year and try to lay more power down in first and second gear.

nice,..im picking up a fp 68hta pretty soon, hopefully ill get it runnin asap, previous owner sucked in o2 wire cable and bent 2 fins..ower was still able to run low 11's at 120+ traps on the condition the turbo is with the bent fins, im picking this turbo next week i already talked to fp about buying a compressor wheel and pretty soon ill have it back to top shape

booo i ended up not gettin my 68hta..but im looking to either get a brand new 68hta in the future or a tdo5 20g

I realize this is ancient but I was just wondering if the evo8 ecu was used to monitor charge temps. Where in the charge stream is the probe located?

Thank you for posting your results. Just to sort of sum up this thread (for future searches), you trapped 126mph, with a 2,700 lb car (without driver). FWD. on 93 pump gas. Stock 6 bolt save for FP2's and a JM Fab FMIC. 420whp at 27 psi falling to 23. EVO VIII ECU.

Thank you for sharing your results, has anyone ever pushed this turbo a bit harder? More boost maybe?

I'm probably going to get corrected for speaking for Lucas English again but somewhere I remember reading that they ran the HTA68 over 31psi, like 38'ish IIRC, and the turbo wasn't lasting very long. Then they dropped boost to 31psi and didn't have any problems... I've been running mine at 30psi since 2010 and still great, no in and out shaft play.

Your turbo has 7cm or 8cm exhaust housing?

I read a review on FP's website when I bought the turbo, about someone making 501awhp at 36 psi

That was me! That is on the 7cm, I've had this turbo since '09. I didn't push it over 30psi until I dropped in the built 6bolt. I was running E85 in 2011 at 30psi never dynoed it. On just a street tune from Devin at Boostin the car ran a 11.77 @ 122 mph, stock 7 bolt, full weight car with AC, and all season tires. I think my best 60' was 1.6-1.7.

The picture with the three time slips is with the built 6 bolt on QTP's with the 68hta turbo. The one I the middle was a 10.8 :) Her is a vid from the shootout....

Nice! Thanks for posting your dyno graph. Seems like power comes in late for a td05h wheel in a 7cm housing, or is it just me? Share a complete mod's list if your willing (or able) to please!
