I understand that, thanks. Brian has a set of wheels with Star Specs, so I figure I'll get the R-S3's so we can try them out as well. And I can always steal the Star Specs if needed.

Cool. Then the only other issue that pops into my head is this: I know that you said that you weren't worried about rules, but if your car is otherwise legal for ST, you might want to stay with 245s, as that's the limit for AWDs. When I was in STX way back when, it was 245/40/17 Kumho MXs on a 17x8 or 17x8.5 +38 or so for our cars.

I had to go check the rules. My car is not ST legal.

I run 245 35 17's on my GSX with XXR rims and there great for st if u ask me.

I finally picked up a set of wheels. And they happened to come with the tires I wanted and center caps. :)

17x9 +35 Volk RE30 with 255/40/17 Hankook R-S3's. I checked clearances and these wheels will work with Evo brakes, Stoptech big brake kit, and everything TCE offers (including the Plus 5 with the 13.3" rotor) except the Plus 5 with 14" rotor. The brake clearance is phenomenal. I'm not crazy about the gunmetal wheels on the silver car but I suppose I'll get used to it. I just couldn't pass this deal up. Right now the bump stops are set up to prevent the tires from getting into the fenders, but I have a fender roller ready to go when I get time. Then I can get some shock travel back in the rear.

I think it looks great, but I haven't seen silver with bronze RE30s either.

Now onto the larger brakes! :D

Hi all!

I tried on another thread to ask this question but still without answer...
So I try here ;)

I am planning on getting XXR527 on my eclipse 2g coz I love concave rims.
I want to go 18x8.75+20 to get max concave with 225/40 tires, but it is going to stick out more than 0.8" farther than stock.
Am I going to have rubbing/ fender issue?

If yes should I go +35 and loose a little bit of concave?

Hope someone can help.

Thank you for the reply !
Do you mean with 9.75+20 (225/40 tires) it will fit ? How so? I have very poor knowledge about that...
Actually it could be very cool if I could go this way ! ;)

But real talk, im actually running XXR 527 17x8(.25 or.75) +25 and the poke is not as bad as the photo above but its bearable.

;)
Well I am not worrying about poke, I love it actually, but what I fear is rubbing...
I live in a place full of narrow mountain road with lots of curb, so I dont want to damage tires and fenders each time I am driving :)

Like said as long as you're not too low you'll be fine but if it were me if get so real tires on a 9.75 wheel. There's a thread on here has pics and specs of people running those wheels. Pretty sure Danielsl1999gsx was involved with it.
