Okay DSM gurus... I have searched and can not find what I am looking for.

My brother just bought a 1990 GS-T. The car is in remarkable condition. It has a tendency to run hot but does not overheat. I noticed that the only fan that works is the passenger side fan. Now in my DSM to get both fans to work I turn on my AC.

My brothers car does not have AC so therefore I cannot simply turn on the AC to get both fans to operate.

Is there anything I can do to get both fans to work? Perhaps wiring them together?

I did see when I searched that there might be a problem with overloading the circuit when doing this.

If any of you know of how to remedy this I would appreciate it greatly. Maybe even a wiring diagram or pictures showing what you did.

Thanks a bunch.

We'll I'm not sure on over running the circuit but when by buddy removed his AC we just wired both fans together. He also had a hotter temp when we put in the FMIC. I'll ask him but I'm pretty sure we just wired together, cause we used wire nuts from my HVAC truck just to see if it would work. Then we soldered together.

No issues so far, maybe 2 years now, and has been under the knife for 3 months or so for a rebuild. But not sure if others have had a problem.

He has a 92 Plymouth lazer AWD

Thanks for the responses.

Gary can you draw a quick diagram on wiring them in parallel?

Here you go.

We wired in series with no problems at first. He had changed his radiator and fans he now has them wired in parallel.

Yes those are reversed. You must wire them the way the top one is.
I'm Gary BTW.

A way to make them both run when ever the key is on would be to jumper the thermo switch harness (under the radiator) AND remove and jumper the AC relay (or the AC high/low change over relay).
