The car has 90k miles and its due for a timing belt full service anyway. I plan on eventually getting to around 400whp with this car so any other mods/replacements that you would recommend doing at this time to save on labor costs later, would be appreciated.

I know i want to get rid of the lifter tick so I would like to put the revised lifters in there, and possibly 264/272 cams and not sure what else i would need. Will it save me any labor time at all for a basic head rebuild including the lifters and cams while i have it in for the 90k service?

Along these lines i am also going to need a new Clutch very soon as my stock one is beginning to become inconsistent and slip. Would it also make sense cost-wise to have this done at the same time as the 90k service? Thanks for the help and sorry for the batch of questions!

Yes to everything but the clutch. Since they need to do the timing belt procedure to get the cams out then you might as well. You could do the lifters at the same time, or save the labor and do those yourself. They are very easy, you only need a pry bar and a half inch drive ratchet once you get the valve cover off but they shouldn't charge you very much since once the cams are out it takes no more than two minutes to swap new ones in.

You're at 90k, you really shouldn't need a head rebuild anytime soon. Depending on what the cams are you can get away with factory valvetrain but if you need to upgrade springs I would suggest rethinking the cams. That will require removing the head and cost a lot more money for you. It is possible to change springs while the head is still on the block but a shop isn't going to go that route.

OK Cool. I should also mention that besides the Turbo-Back Exhaust and Intake the car is stock. Will i be ok running 264/272 cams on a stock engine? And do you believe if i do a basic OEM rebuild with ARP head studs, OEM headgasket, 3g lifters, and 264/272 cams that should safely get me to my eventual goal of 400whp? Thanks again! Just trying to make sure i cover my basis while someone is in there already.

Ahh for some reason i was under the impression the head would have to be taken off for the cams. Ya i wouldn't think i would need a head rebuild anytime soon either. So the cams and lifters can be done without taking the head off and replacing the headgasket then?
