2G Front Driver axle replacement on GSX

I'm wanting to buy a new axle for my 1999 GSX 5speed. I may be missing something, but how are you supposed to put the carrier bearing on the new axle? I really don't want to take the new axle apart if I don't have to.

You don't take the axle apart. Inner cup has a female end the intermediate slides into. New axle won't come with the intermediate shaft or bearing

Basically what I'm trying to avoid is taking any of the boots off. I replaced a torn boot on the axle which was working fine, and after the boot install it clunk now. I guess I don't know how to install the boot properly.

That's why for most people, I would recommend always buying the complete axle. My .02

Are the advance auto axles not complete axles?

After looking at it again, I think I understand what Pauley is saying. The intermediate shaft connection doesn't use a boot, correct?

The only place to buy the inner shaft for an awd dsm is the dealer. All aftermarket axles are just the outer axle.
