I'm planning on light to moderate track days and its evident on this site that the Koni/Ground Control set-up is ideal for my price range. I've seen people have been having a hard time finding spherical top hats and was curious if anyone has used the RTM units and if they will work correctly with the Koni/Ground Control set up?

I use two of them, other two are from jay racing. No complaints here. Everything fit fine.

My coilovers are DG spec not ground control.

Edit: now that i think about it one of the spherical bearings provided in the rtm set was a china bearingg and not as stiff as the accompanying aurora one. Rtm replaced the bearing, and it's really easy to install, no press, just a snap ring :) mine were on the shelf a while before the DG craze came bacj around, so newer ones will probably be all good

How was the pricing on the Jay Racing Hats and are they still made? Also what are you using for your spring perch? That part doesn't seem covered very well in peoples write ups or I'm going blind:ohdamn:

I used a custom machined snap ring groove and koni coilover sleeves. Any part numbers yiu have questions about or sourcing parts I'm sure jay racing can get.

Heres the origional info on them if you havnt seen it.

I dont remember the price but they must have been similar or less than rtm's.

I'm pretty sure the set on my race car are from RTM as of earlier last year (had some ones from Robispec prior that were suspect). There's really not much to them beyond the spherical bearing wearing out. The machining was spot on and exactly what I needed. I'm using them with KW V3 coilovers, just had to machine the bushings for the shock rod.

They will work for any 2g dsm setup given the proper bushings. I'd imagine RTM machines the bushings for konis because that's what prompted the original design by Dennis Grant. I just can't remember if he made my bushings or I just had my local shop do them.

Awesome to hear! What bushings are you referring to?

Yeah getting the Konis grooved isn't a problem. my main concern is that does Ground Control supply the correct spring perch or would new ones need boughten? That or I could look into the DG setup.
