Hello all, my name is Dawson, I'm 26, and I have a 1992 Expo Sport AWD with a manual. I've had it a bit over a year, and it's been an absolute pile of crap the entire time. Yet every time I drive it, I get a big cheesy grin on my face, despite the lackluster (if that's not an understatement, idk what is) performance from the 8v 4G64.

It is however a pretty well optioned car, from what I can tell the only options I'm missing are 2 tone paint, a sunroof, limited slip rear diff, and the storage tray under the passenger seat.

According to the Mitsubishi dealership my car was owned by Mitsubishi and was a company vehicle in California for the first few years of it's life.

To date I've replaced the ECU, fuel tank, fuel filter (x2), fuel pump (x3), fuel pump plug (from the pump to the plug on the top), spark plugs (x2), thermostat, transmission, transfer case, clutch, front brakes, timing belt, balance shaft belt (which was completely missing from my engine), starter, flex pipe (x2), and one bent stock rim.

The list of modifications so far is pretty slim, it's got a 3g Eclipse steering wheel, aftermarket shift knob, bigger tires (215/75-15 Bridgestone Winter Dueler, which is just a bit too big), 15" aluminum wheels from a '98 Galant, Colt Vista grille, black bumpers, fog lights, stereo, custom made MAF adapter with cone filter, and I guess you could technically consider the replacement trans an upgrade, it's from a '92 TSi.

I've got a few parts piled up waiting to go in that include a 4G63 head, exhaust manifold, 16g turbo, and a limited slip rear diff.

Here's a couple pics of the beast. The zip ties and broken trim under the headlight were a result of a large snow bank I took out I think the very first week I had it.

I very quickly found some Galant hubcaps that looked much better, and somehow made it look a bit newer.

the 18" Enkei rims that were destroyed by a curb at about 3mph because I was too quick to put them back on after winter and got caught up in a snow storm on 225 summer tires. :/

The mess from swapping the transmission. Here you can see the Colt grille.

And here's some recent pics. I don't have any of it since I've done the black bumpers, but yes I do run with my full size spare and a snow shovel on the roof. :) This is with the Galant wheels and big tires.

In case you're wondering, the stickers say (Left) "Jesus loves you, everyone else thinks you're an asshole" (Right) "Your kid may be an honor student, but your driving sucks" (Plate frame) "Cowboy butts drive me nuts"

And here's a picture of my big ass relaxing in the back of it. I've removed the center seat to make more room to haul stuff.

Here's a couple pics of my other current cars.

I've got this pos Escort wagon that I bought for $300 with a blown motor from an old farmer with the intention of making it a very unique ride.

It's got a ZX2 front end swap, Mazda KL-DE engine ('94 626), K8 transmission and flywheel (MX-3 GS), ZX2 S/R Borla muffler, B&M short throw shifter, Eibach Pro Line springs, and Tociko struts, MX-3 GS sub frames, drilled rotors, rear disc brakes, steering rack, dashboard, seats, and wiring harness, MX-6 steering wheel, Escort GT rear calipers (to be able to run ceramic pads), 17" Konig rims, and a bunch of misc odds and ends from various Mazda/Ford cars to complete the job.

The beginning of the swap.

Lurking there in the background is my totaled '89 Accord, which is what has funded most of this project.
I was at a dead stop and was hit at 45mph by a girl in a Malibu who was playing with her phone and not watching where she was going, she never saw me and never hit the brakes.

And that is my own MX-3 that I drove for about a year, just a quick before, after, and after stripping of it. :)

I paid $500 for it out of a junk yard "not running", threw some wheels on it and drove it home. :D

And the donor car for that car, a '00 ZX2 S/R. Going to swap all the goodies, including the Ztec and 5spd into the silver car.

So enough of my rambling, hate if you must but when was the last time you saw a V6 Escort wagon running around? :D

nice van! i miss mine, awd with 4g63t. the awd van tranny is 95 percent identical to a talon awd tranny, only difference is a slightly thicker viscous coupler in the tsi. you probably know that already. i was very happy with the power of the 4g64, i didnt think it was gutless at all! it burnt a lot of oil though, common problem with them, i had no interest in rebuilding it so i could slap a dohc head on it.

If your looking for a bumper for the Expo I found one at a local junkyard in NY. I'm going this Friday to snag some parts for my Vista. Let me know if your looking to snag it.

Hey man i am the old owner of that zx2 donor car you have LOL, never thought i would see that thing again, let me know when you are finished with it and i would love to buy some of the parts left over on it if its still around, id like to buy the tail lights for sure
