Hey guys well I'm moving down to arizona in the next few months and will be towing the dsm from the greater toronto area in canada. I was looking at uhaul trailers but for a similar price i can buy one and re use it while I'm down here for track runs.

What are good brand and decent price point to look at?

What specs as far as width and length should i be looking for?

Electric breaks a necessity?

The trailer will primarily haul my dsm and maybe an evo some day. Nothing bigger. But for this particular trip a lot of tools will FILL the dsm all the way.

Looking at primarily open trailers unless an enclosed one can be had for the same price (which i doubt) budget is 4k max

I'd like a 5* load angle so i can easily load uo the dsm without using 2x4 or plywood. I dont have enough time to build a trailer nor do i have experience to do so, but any other winches or racks or what ever (to hold slicks maybe?) i can weld on at a later time, im looking for the shortest i can get away with but also dont want the car to be about falling off the trailer so i was considering a 18ft. What do you guys use? Help me out this is a long 32 hour drive!

I'll also add that the tow vehicle is a 02 ram1500 SLT long bed with airbags in the rear. 50,000 origional miles.

I got a 18ft flat deck car trailer last summer brand new for 2700. I think pretty much all trailers will have at least electric brakes, ones with hydraulic and air are usually bigger and more cash. Make sure to get some good quality tie down straps.

I'd actually look at stuff like what uhaul has, there car haulers are all aluminium so they're light plus compact enough they dont take up much room.
Room isnt an issue i find the uhaul style to be too small actually, plus the one i had anyway didn't have removable fenders so mu door couldnt open, that was a piss off climbing in and out of the hatch. Or maybe it did and i didn't know about it until after it was returned LOL. None the less, I'd like the trailer to br longer than my car.

Ive got good quality ones, mund sharing a pic of yours? Is it any specific brand? Wood deck? How do you like your load angle?

Anything over 3000 lbs requires trailer brakes. U haul trailers may have hydraulic surge brakes (the cargo trailers do, not sure about the car trailers). I have pulled both open and enclosed trailers with my Ram. I moved four cars last year with an open aluminum trailer and really liked how easily it towed compared to the brick of an enclosed trailer.

Thanks, I'm not driving the car part way cause i have two cars, and california isnt exactally part way, it's actually about 5 hours west of my final location the trailer will be bought in hamelton/toronto area since thats where all my stuff is to be moved LOL ive done some research on kijiju and seen some good finds but I'm more curious what people are using and what load angle they prefer, people that do habe one what do you wish was different. Not really looking for spoon fee trailers for sale :) more specs and prefrences for our cars. I can't find much that tells about load angle and thats a big concern for me, i want it to be easy for my low car (not speed bump curbing low) to be able to get on and off without fuss.
