I have a weird problem going on with my car. Today when I was out for a drive, I was bombing down some back roads when all of a sudden my alarm goes off!!! WHILE I'M DRIVING!??!?! WTF?!?! I try hitting the ARM/DISARM/PANIC buttons on the remote, but nothing. I'm still cruising down the road, so I turn the car off and start coasting and take the keys out and try the remote buttons again. Still nothing. Then, after what was I'm sure the normal 2 mins or so for the alarm to go off before it shuts off on its own, it quits. Nothing I did could make it stop. I was driving the car, keys obviously in the ignition, doors unlocked, all normal. Then, later that night, it happened again. Both times it happened when I was driving kinda hard. Not full out, balls to the wall, but I was hauling. I don't know why that would matter, but just so you know if that helps. Both times it did it, the alarm just shut off on its own. Me hitting the buttons on the remote did nothing. It got so annoying that I've unplugged the horn just so I don't have to hear it again. You can still hear the clicking in the dash when it does it though. In the car it sounds like you have a turn signal on. CLICK-CLICK CLICK-CLICK CLICK-CLICK It has now done it 4 times, and I have no idea why. Any help would be awesome.

maaaaan.............. your car is possessed dude.... that iz some 'supernatural' sh*t...

Call 'Cleo', maybe she can help you out. LOL.... just playin'

It happened to my car before..Turns out that the alarm wires under the steering wheel was touching...Run all the wires from the alarm to the horn etc etc, to see if there's any loose wires.. or disconnect the negative of the battery and let it reset... Hope this helps..

Thanks, I'll try checking that out. And, I'll try doing a reset. I thought that might help, but I didn't know if anyone had this before and knew what was up. It really was weird. It didn't do it at all today, so who knows. Thanks for the advice though.

I had a customers car (non-dsm) do much the same thing. Only it wasn't while they were driving nor was it the "alarm" side of the system. Come to find out the Panic button was shorted in the remote itself. Basically it was commanding the panic mode to operate all the time. So when the customer approached the car, keys in pocket, the panic alarm would go off once the customer got within range. I removed the batteries and the alarm no longer went off. Replaced the Remote and the customer no longer had this problem. If this becomes a regular problem, try taking the batteries out of your remote and see if it quits.

If you look at the age of the thread (2003), the owner likely no longer owns the car. The user's last activity was 2005 FYI. Please look how old a thread is before responding.
