Recently I've started to DD my 2gb GST and I've noticed that my temperature rises above normal when I'm sitting in traffic. I have 2 mishimoto slim fans wired up, and they're on my mishimoto radiator so they should be more than capable of keeping it cool.

So I thought my fans weren't turning on, so I tested them in my garage and the radiator fan kicked in when it started to get hot, and my AC condenser fan turned on when I turned on my ac, and this has me stumped. Nothing is visible that would suggest something was wrong, no coolant leaking, when I check the coolant i have plenty when I take off my radiator cap and have plenty in the overflow tank. Has anyone had any experience similar to this? Could it be the thermostat?

Yes, both of the fans pull air though the radiator. Would a bad coolant temp sensor cause this? My car isn't throwing a CEL but every once in a while it will flash on briefly. Haven't been able to pull the code if it's still saved, but I'll try to find it later

I wonder if your thermostat is opening completely. Wouldn't hurt to pull it out and check it with a thermometer and some boiling water to make sure it's opening at the right temp. My thinking is that if it's partially opening then when at speed the extra airflow is giving you enough cooling even with the low coolant velocity, but at idle with just the fans you are not.

Check out the thermal switch theres two one on the bottom of the rad and one near the top of you thermo houseing, thing is when mine went bad it caused my fans to constantly turn off and on

Okay so I think I fixed it, I replaced the thermostat, diluted my coolant from 50/50 to something less than that and burped the system. I went for a quick 10 minute drive and then sat in a parking lot with the car on for around 7 minutes and yhe temp hasn't risen above normal.

But another has risen. I noticed my AC fan would blow the fuse instantly when I turned my ac on, and doing some reading online and some advice from my friends I was told I could wire both fans up to the passenger side circuit? Is there any guide to do this or anyway of doing that safely without blowing a fuse?
