I'd consider it sort of sleeperish, minus the straight pipe. 400awhp stock block.

Stock block?..... holy shit balls bat man. How long you been running it like that? Its my hope I can get some where close to that.

Now days its not all uncommon to have 400+ out of a stock bottom end. Hell my spyder is upwards of 500awhp and 450tq in an unknown year stock 7 bolt for the past 3 season. Plus the 3 or so years prior i beat the crap out of it at ~300. Im not even going to post it because its far too flashy.

Nomination though? Mr Peepers on here. Looks and rides completely stock, has ran 10.0 on slicks and no interior and 10.5x in full street trim and with less than 500 miles on a freshly rebuilt stock 6 bolt after driving 400 to the dsm shootout.

It's been a little over 1.5 years on this setup, daily driven and beat on a little bit every time it's driven. I even still have balance shafts :hellyeah: But as Crash said, I feel like this is pretty common now adays. I'm tempted to go for a bit more, but it scares me because it's my only car.

Some of you guys have way to much under the hood to be a sleeper at the runs...

Just saw you still have balance shafts too Crash :thumb:

Indeed. And i bought this engine from JDMdepot in 2009 when i was fairly new to the scene. Then i think the engine had ~80k? So now its got maybe 115k. Just kevlar belts. Im running this engine until it throws a rod out the side.

He could always meet me at the shootout this year and we could find out. I'm only running a old school fp red setup (60-1/TD06H) on E85 at 26 psi. The only thing I can think of I really need is bigger cams 264/272 setup not cutting it above 6k rpms on the 2.4L.

since we're on the topic how reliable has your guys cars been? @ crash & Iboost

My engines got around the 140k miles on it and seems to be very healthy good oil pressure and compression, plus it took 19 PSI on a all stock setup (accidentally, waste gate actuator solenoid failed and was holding to much boost) for a month. So I'm hopeful my old 7 bolt will last awhile.

sounds like you could beat a old t25 gst pretty easy no need for me to drive 1800 miles or so hahah .. I think the summit/expo is the best sleeper hard to find one out here

.

With this exact setup ive daily driven the car in the non snowy months for 3 seasons. And daily driven and beaten this engine since 09. Only thing thats really "broken" was the transmission at the end of '13.

Beginning of summer 2014 I twisted the splines on the output shaft. And that's been the only real "major" problem. My stock block, with 135k, takes all the beatings I give it, nearly 365 days a year. Sees 30psi from my hx35 everytime it's driven. Just needs a new oil pump gasket because it leaks everywhere.

Thanks a lot for the replies Tom and John. I've been leery about going that extreme with my goals due to the my inexperience. But if you guy's are pumping out that much power on a daily bases that definitely speaks for its self.
Hope I can join the sleeper ranks soon haha
