I have oil leaking out of the inside of my 1g CAS. Does not leak from the o-ring!
I'm looking for the SHAFT seal. New CAS are very expensive. I want to service the shaft seal. Has anyone found a seal? Got the o-ring at the dealer but no seal available. Anyone found one???

if you are talking about sealing it to the head just use some rvt

Did you not read what the guy typed? Did you just look at the title and make a post. He specifically says NOT the outer o ring. He specifically stated that he is looking for the shaft seal.

For the seal, i would pull the cas apart and measure it than find a industrial bearing and seal store and they should be able to get you something that works. You will want something that is .004-.006 larger diameter than what is in there for it to be a press fit.

I just bought a new CAS and yes they are damm!! expensive!! Which housing is it? The one with the rectangle plug or the wires feeding into it? Finding a housing with a bad sensor and swapping your insides into might be a way to go.

The other option with the bearing store might work too. If you find a seal that works get the number and who makes it.

I have 3 or 4 laying around. Let me guess you may have even bought a few for cheap that "came off a running car" but when you hooked them up they were trash or the plug was ripped clean off with dirt and grease in the wires so you know the thing wasn't working. It wasn't from members on here though. Spares are a good thing if they were cheap enough.

Thanks for the responses. I will take It apart and measure it. If I find a seal that works I will post the part # here. Still If anyone else already knows the size or part #, please respond. Thanks :aha:

Worst case scenario, there out there check extreme psi too, they have lots of things there. That seems easier just to get one specific for your car.

Does anybody know where I can order the small oil seal inside of the cas not the o ring on the outer part.its from a 90 eclipse turbo

Download CAPS to find the part number and call your local Mitsubishi dealer. I don't know of any other way.

Thanks but it doesn't show a blow up of the cas so it's useless do you know how to cross reference the numbers on the seal itself its (nok aho514e).

this is from a black top CAS...

Remove two difficult bolts on cover with small pliers.remove all Phillips screws inside and outside .remove electronics and press out the pin on the shaft and their is your seal and mine leaks so I want to replace seal because I know in time all that oil on the electronics is going to damage it

Read entire thread. Other members state pin removal is not necessary.

remember to mark how the dowel goes onto the shaft before pressing the pin out...

there is a bearing before you can find this oil seal.

Might wanna replace the bearing at the same time. At some point in the near future this might be the better option. I personally don't trust reman parts, especially critical engine sensors.

I purchased from http://www.ultimateindustrial.com/ the seals for my Cyclone intake manifold, as long as you can measure accurately the seal you should be able to find it there. I also spoke to http://www.rocketseals.com/ but I did not like the idea of giving my CC number to them over the phone so I went another route.

About that pin...that was precisely the reason I was asking, I made it that far but then I could not press the pin out of it without damaging the part, how did you take it out?
