ive had that problem before . its the throw out bearing :thumb: if you have a 5 speed that is. if you engag the clutch that's your problem and their you go . if not then definitely internal block slapping which is no good but 99% sure its the ( TOB ). take care of all those rusty bolts and rust clamps

let me know what it is update

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the quick reply. I forgot to mention before that when I push in the clutch the sound goes away, so thanks for pointing that out skunkdeez. I have to wait a couple weeks till I get paid before I can aquire the parts, but when I get them installed I will post an update on that. I'll make sure to get to those bolts and clamps at the same time.

I'm actually having a problem with the power steering as well. At times it jerks in and out for a few seconds then it comes back. I've noticed it doesn't happen when I'm in motion. Usually just when I'm getting ready to turn at a stop or when I'm pulling out of my driveway. One of my friends thinks it could be a problem with the tension on the drive belt, or even the belt its self. Have either of you had this issue before?

Hate Beard make sure you put an OEM throwout bearing in and it has a "jesus" clip that goes on it too. Make a note when you are taking it apart or better yet TAKE PICTURES. It will come in handy when you get to the reinstall point. :thumb: Make sure the pivot ball for the clutch fork is in good shape at this point also, good time to replace it.

Will you be doing this yourself or taking it to a shop?
If you don't know your way around a DSM just yet- this is not a job to learn on. Take it to the shop and have your powersteering looked into and have the TOB replaced and clutch inspected.

It's definitely not crankwalk 420a's don't get that like the 4g63's

That's not how it works. Every motor can crankwalk. The 7 bolt CW issue was blown way out of proportion either by misdiagnosis or people flat out lying because they don't want to own up to their stupidity.

However, to me this sounds a lot like a bad pulley. Kind of like it is trying to seize up. I would take off the belt and spin the pulleys by hand and see if they bind.

As for the power steering cut out. I'd first check the fluid levels and from there take off the cap and with the car on go from steering lock in one direction then to the other direction, finish up by checking the leveks and tightening the cap back on. However it is possible you could have a failing pump.

I think you could have multiple problems as well. If pushing your clutch in really makes the sound go away it most likely is a throw out bearing problem.
