I am looking for more info on what folks are doing with the HY-35. i have searched but found very few if any info... Found a metric F ton on the HX line.. A link to the info is fine. Some data logs from DSMLink is fine as well. I know there are a few folks here running this turbo..

Looking for more information as well. I picked up a rebuilt HY35 on a great deal, and I've heard great things about the turbo.. I just don't know a lot about what I need to run it as far as supporting mods are concerned. I've done, or tried doing a fair amount of research and have found A LOT of HX35 info, but like the OP... Not a lot of HY. Because of that I've been considering trading it for an HX or even a Mitsu 20g..... So any info would be appreciated :)

I really wanted to get an HY35 after buying my new MAP T3 mani, but got scared by many of the people around the forums talking about the small 9cm housing choking the 60lb/min compressor too much to max it out. I've seen almost every post by bastarddsm about his experiences with it and its very impressive what he accomplished. Besides him and Gabe though, I don't know of any other guys getting as much power out of them? Is it really as easy as bolting it on and cranking the boost controller along with standard supporting mods, or was the 137 trap done on E85/meth injection and a ton of timing or some other tuning voodoo? I want it to be true because its still on the list of possible replacements for this 50 trim that I don't think will pull 500whp!

Well I took the plunge and picked up a dirt cheap HY35 to try and chase after these other guys using it with success into the 10s! I know there are more than a few 50 trims/Greens in the 10's but they are rated at nearly 10lbs/min less airflow so I have to think the Holset is the better choice for someone wanting a high boost high rpm powerband that still spools quick via the 9cm housing.

I'm still curious to learn more about how Bastard, Gabe, and Ricky have all been able to get nearly 100whp more out of these things than others. One of the 10.9-11.1 sec days they posted on YouTube was done on straight pump gas, and the dyno showed about 540whp from what they posted. I know Jaxness swapped one on and didn't quite make 500whp at 30psi and 110oct race fuel, so I really hope that 92 + meth will be enough to make it worth swapping it on from my BB 50 trim which LOVES pump gas!

Thanks for the tips, I have an ETS race core and every head mod you could do with some GSC S2s which I was afraid may have been a little big but should help at high RPM. I read in one thread that someone was having trouble getting the turbo to hold boost that high, were you using manual or electric boost controllers and was that 35psi a spike, or held through the powerband?

Also, as far as a downpipe did you just get a steel flange and weld a custom set up? I'm thinking of getting the factory Cummins downpipe and just putting it through the side of the front bumper.
