I bought a 98 GSX all stock besides a Greddy boost controller. I have a few problems, my car hesitates when I'm accelerating from a stop. It also shakes when it's stopped whether it's in drive or reverse. I feel like I'm not getting anywhere close to the power I should get when I hit the gas hard it doesn't really go too fast. Thanks for help in advance, also it's autmatic

Boost leak/vac leak test for starters, my auto had far worse driving conditions with vac leaks, non recirc bov, boost leaks, than any manual I've had. Get any leaks solved then move on
Alright thanks alright I'll do the tests and see what I come up with

Sounds like you have a misfire on 1 or multiple cylinders. Should check for spark on all 4 cylinders and see if a ignition coil has failed or if you just need a simple tune-up.

^^ That's what I was thinking, do you have a check engine light on? If so pull the codes ( or have them pulled a/z does it free) and report back. There are a few things mentioned that could very well take care of the issue. A boost leak tester and some soapy water will help find those small leaks.

first thing is scan for any codes you might have misfire codes .next try putting your car in drive with foot on the brake and rev the motor a little if the car shakes worse then i would say its an ignition problem plug , wire , coil etc . if the engine starts to smooth out then it could be a vacuum leak . i would also check valve timing and make sure it didn't jump .

Okay today I just bought all new spark plugs, feels a little better but still the same basically, I went to a shop today and they're going to check my check engine light with a more advanced code checker, I forgot to mention the check engine light but when I got my oil change the mechanic told me it was popping up as a fuel problem but didn't know exactly what, also my air file ratio is like medium but it used to be perfect

I'm goig to have the check engine light looked at? While my foot was on the brake I gave it has but the shaking did not go away

maybe check the maf, i had a ranger that when the mad was dirty i could hit the gas and the truck would stumble and choke spit and sputter and the idle was so rough you would think it had cams.
