I recently bought a used set of 1100cc FIC high-z injectors from a guy locally. It came with the upper orings and lower insulators but not the insulator that goes between the fuel rail and the injector. When I looked at FICs site I don't see any upper insulators in their picture.

I tried an oem upper insulator on the FIC Injector but it was way to big and the injector wouldn't fit all the way into the fuel rail. I attached a pic so you can see the difference between an Evo8 injector and the FIC. Without the upper insulator the injector fits flush with the fuel rail.

Are these things not suppose to have an upper insulator? Can you safely run injectors without an upper insulator?

Thought I would clarify this post up to anyone else wondering, yes there is not supposed to be an upper insulator on top of the Fuel Injector Clinic high resistance injectors. I had a set that was ran safely without the insulators. The low resistance Fuel Injector Clinic fuel injectors do require an extra upper seal and insulator.

That is correct, i bought this kit i linked to as its for high z but i dont have the kit yet so dont know what they include! My 1100 just has 2 seals

95_gsx_2g and ec17pse are right. I just got this response from Tim over at FIC:
"No worries we do not use those top insulators on the 1100's. They are primarily there to be dust covers, but the 1100's are so close when bolted in they are not needed."

Sounds like the two seals are all it needs.
