I'm looking to run a holset hx40. Im curios as to what injector size would be efficient, exhaust setup( t3 or mitsubishi) exhaust manifold. I plan on using dsmlink and want to know if gm maf or speed density would be a better setup. It's a 98 gst with a 6 bolt swap. Built bottom end and ported 1g head. Has 95 Eprom ecu. Thanks for any help

Depends on your power level / spool up for the t3 vs Mitsu flange, as for injectors I'd just do it once and say get 1000cc or bigger. Sd vs gm maf is Preference I guess but sd is quite simple with the adaptor harness and sensors available from ecmlink. And boost leaks don't affect it as much and the bonus of simpler intake piping without a maf.

Does the t3 setup spool faster? I'm looking to make around 400-450 at the wheels. I Also plan to get a built trans as well. I want to be able to drive it whenever and take it to the track. From what I have read 400- 450 whp is about the max a fwd would be able to put down without too much trouble with an lsd. At some point I'll either convert it to awd or try to find an awd shell, but for now its only fwd. Is there a preferred injector brand as well? Would the walbro 255 be enough pump for that? Thanks

I would get a smaller turbo for 400hp. Oh and fwd with 450hp is horrible. 200hp is more like the limit before fwd is retarded.

Well that sucks. Guess I should start hunting for an awd shell. The engine in this car is very well balanced without having balance shafts in it, and runs fantastic.

your pump is fine for that power. 25psi should get you around the 400whp mark, depending on supporting mods.

I'm going to get 1250 injectors, fpr, dsmlink, and a much larger fmic. What would you recommend camshaft wise? Do you recommend I add anything else to help keep it "safe"

I would highly recomend a wideband for logging with link.

wideband and some kelford 272's and your set. maybe a 2g maf

Got it. I think I'm going to run a gm maf and set up as blow through with the link. Thanks guys. Appreciate all the input. If you think of anything else please let me know.

speed density is just sensitive to changing conditions, not the best for daily driving. you can also get a 3g MAF, there is a specific parts number, it's the rarer 3g maf that has the highest rating, almost as high as the evo. should be able to find it in a junk yard or ebay. as for the parts number, i know it's on these forums somewhere, ill see if i can dig it up.

I would go with FIC injectors, buy big so you don't have to re-buy later down the road. Good luck

Is there a preference or necessity over high impedance or low impedance injectors? I'm trying to learn about proper fuel supply as it's been my downfall in the past. I want to daily drive it with decent fuel mileage and be able to turn up the boost to go to the track.

This will answer your first question. :thumb:

I do like the idea of sd due to simpler piping setup. My uncle uses a tec 3 ems on his 91 gsx and I believe it's sd setup. He seems to have a hard time with keeping a consistent tune on the car though. He takes it to a reputable tuner in colonial beach and still has problems with it. Hopefully dsm link is more user friendly than his setup. Not blaming the sd setup, just stating that his is setup that way
