Seems like my pedal gets stuck after it sits for a few hours.. i have to go to the throttle body and hit the thing where you manually Rev it at. It frees up and drives. . What's causing this

I've had this problem before. Ensure that your throttle body on the manifold has the stopping mechanism attached to it. When closed, the throttle has a resting mechanism, so that the throttle door doesn't just keep closing until it's open on the other side... If that makes sense. If this is not present, or adjusted, the butterfly door will be lean closed so much that it will actually be open. This causes throttle stick, as you'll be bringing the throttle door from a negative position- and this also causes idle surge. Idle surge happens because your car thinks it's idling but there is so much air due to the throttle door open.

In short- check to make sure that your throttle body has the mechanism that it's supposed to rest on when closed.

Wish I had a picture for you.

Check your throttle cable up to the throttle body. See if the rubber insulation on the cable isn't cracked or missing. That can cause water to get water to get into the sheath and form rust. That is what happened to me.

Yea it just recently started happeneing. It's like the manual level that the cable is attached to on the throttle body gets stuck.. in the mornings I can't move it by hand. Have to hit it once with something then it's fine..

I vote the throttle body stop or adjustment if the throttle body closes to far it seems to get stuck mine use to do the same thing. Mainly if you let off the gas fast and it snap shut it wedges.

Take the elbow off and look inside to see if everything is carbend up. If yes than clean it. Disconnect the cable from throttle body and move it by hand. Should move nice and free because that should go to the pedal and their should be nothing stopping it from moving freely. If that's not it then see why it's getting jemed up. Inspect the throttle body but don't just go and adjust any stoppers. Inspect that it's there. Chances are that if it was working before fine and now it don't work fine and no one touched the stopper on throttle body then it's not a stopper over adjusted. Also if you have cruise control inspect those cables for binding.

A lot of time just knowing where to look and knowing what you looking for can help you figure it out faster and a lot of time by just changing stuff and taking random stuff off you create more problems than you had before. Also check your routing of the cable. Some people think that it looks good when you hide the cable but what they don't realize that you bending the cable way too much and can crate problems that you should not have.

Yea from sitting over night the lever gets stuck on first start up.. while driving it doesn't get stuck. I hit it with something when I start it in the morning and it's good so maybe needs lubricant

No the lever that the throttle cable is attached to. That is getting stuck the one u can manually Rev the car with. Only gets stuck if car sits.

I had a similar problem with my 2g it ended up being the peddle getting hung up on the carpet / insulation.

Omg how many times to i have to explain this..

The f***ing lever on the throttle body is what's getting stuck.. not the pedal. Wow
it needs lubricant or whatever. .

yea I need to look at it better... the cable moves freely. I removed it and the spring retracts the lever fine.. its like from sitting over night u think condensation is freezing ?? it doesn't stick until it sits a few.. a light tap frees it and its good till it parks. but when its stuck its to hard by hand to move it. I been banging it with something
