Okay so i obviously have a short somewhere that's causing my windshield wiper fuse to blow immediately when the ignition is switched with the wiper motor plugged in or not it still blows every time. Has anyone else had this problem? the car is a 90 Talon TSI. Whats the best way to track down a short in the system? Thanks in advance for the advise.

if you can DIY it, I'd start with checking the wiper motor circuit first.

the blue-green wire of the wiper motor plug is directly connected to the fuse that's blowing. check if it is grounded.

the column switch is where most of wiper's 'brain' is.
