I'm somewhat new to the DSM world. I have 2 project cars at the moment; 1995 Eagle Talon TSi Awd and 1992 Eagle Talon Tsi Awd. My question is about my 1g...I bought it recently from a young guy who said it ran and blah blah just like every guy selling a project car... you never know. It has a stock 6 bolt 4g63t block, 750 injectors, that's about it. He bought it without the turbo, maf and exhaust but it does have the manifold still. My question is what turbo/exhaust setup should I buy? I was thinking a evo 3 16g or 14 b because those bolt right up correct? Will any 3" exhaust bolt right up to the turbo? Lastly I will need a gm maf right? Should I get a 2g gm maf or what?

It depends on your end goals for the car. Do you want to keep it close to stock, or are you trying to make a lot more power? That's going to dictate what turbos people recommend to you.
You can probably get ahold of a 14b for next to nothing, same with a stock O2 housing and downpipe, if you want to stay close to stock.

As for the MAF, a GM MAF is not a plug and play affair. You'd need to use something like Link (Or at the very least a MAF translator.)
Is there a particular reason you want to just throw a GM MAF on it? Lastly, those injectors are way too big for the stock ECU to drive properly. You'll need a way to compensate for that extra fuel.

I'm picking up a 16g turbo with tubular manifold for next to nothing and also getting a 2.5" exhaust for next to nothing as well. The ecu is chipped for 750cc's by the way. I don't plan on keeping it 100% stock but plan on it being my daily. What do you guys think?

What kind of tubular manifold is it, the cheap e bay ones are known to crack. Also is it a real mhi 16g again some fake ones have a good chance of failing which can cause more money in damage to other parts. You can look up the part number on the compressor cover to find out. The exhaust looks decent so maybe just check the turbo for shaft play and oil leaks in turbine and comp housings to be safe.

If your looking for a fun car that is very streetable and can be ran at tue track and has potential to make power and in my opinion the perfect stock block turbo would be an hx35 with a .55ar bep bolt on housing with this setup you can use stock exhaust and o2 housing but you will need a way to tune you can use just an safc since you are chipped it will mainly need tuned for the more airflow i would suggest link v3 though as its a great program

if you want to go similar, you can get the original 14b or 16g assuming you have a flashable ECU, probably not so 14b would be easier. you can use the 2g MAF, it's better than 1G and you just need to swap some wires around or buy an adapter from a guy who makes them on some forums, you can google it. also the 2g manifold is better is better than the 1g and is the same shape, just better alloy. it really comes down to whether you have flashable ECU yet. (breaking rules?) i have 1g to evo 8 ecu adapter, evo 8 ecu, tactrix 2.0, 2g maf and adapter, and intake for sell. will post soon as i get over the newb block.
