I'm Steven and I'm looking for my first Eclipse. I live in Tempe and hope to meet up with some members once I get a car. I have always worked my own cars and am willing to help others with theirs.

If anyone has any leads on a clean gst spyder feel free to let me know.

im not new to forum but i am moving. my name is mike. i am moving to the east mesa area. i currently own 4 dsms. a 1992 eclipse, 2 1992 rs turbo fwd lasers and a 1994 laser rs turbo fwd . sadly when i move i will be leaving them behind:cry: so i will be looking to start up my collection again with a new group. far far away from new England rot.:hellyeah:

Hello everyone my name is Chris from Colorado I will be moving to Buckeye in a week. I drive a 90 Plymouth Laser Rs turbo fwd with minor mods mbc, vrsf fmic, 2g exhaust manifold, and getting ready to switch to a 2g maf. Looking forward to meeting some people down here. The only people I will know are my in-laws and thats it. Hope to go to some meets too. Happy Boosting :hellyeah:

My name's Robert and I live in Glendale but work around central Phoenix. Just picked up a 95 tsi fwd last week. The only upgrade that I know of is a cheap muffler that the previous owner put on it. Sounds decent though. Got some work to do on it, but it drives down the road and the turbo spools up nice. Upgrades will start coming once I get it running right. Hope to meet up with some of you. I work at the christown Wal-Mart tire and lube express, if you're ever in the area, so on by.

Hey what's up? My name is Erik I live in Casa Grande and I am vigorously searching for a DSM. I used to own a 90 TSI AWD and loved it. Couple days ago a friend at work who drives a twin turbo beamer started yapping about how fast his car was and started trying to teach me about turbos. Told him about the Talon and rampit crap talking about Eagles started. He didn't know what 4G63 was. ;-) I pulled up eBay, Craigslist, and YouTube and took Mr. Fancy pants to school. He quickly shut up when he realized I knew my stuff and built not just bought my boost. This convo brought up a lot of past memories. All good, after a quick Craigslist scan, I want back in. Please If any one knows of someone selling, send them my way. I got the fever, and the only cure is more DSM!

Im "Red" from Gilbert. I have a 1994 Mitsubishi Mighty Max aka MadMax
2wd 4g64 (boost coming soon)
Sitting low on 15x8 stretched 195/50 kumho tires.
I've never been out to the meets, truck isn't race or show quality.
I'm looking for a mechanic to do a balance shaft delete and other small replacement's on my 2.4L

Any other Mighty Max owners??

hi everyone im victor and considering moving to phoenix to start a new life and be close to my dear friend there how is the dsm scene out there?

Ill probably start off I gilbert az that's where her house is, it would be nice to have a hand from time to time im pretty independent working on my car.

The DSM community in phoenix and surrounding areas is decent in size, small compared to the mid-west. There are enough of us around, so you won't have any issues finding parts. NO established DSM specific meets, shoot-outs or cook-outs. Like gofer mentioned above, you're lucky if you see a DSM at a car meet or even on the road for that matter.

That's good ill still get to ohio every year for the shootout, so im making a effort to get out there this year looking to make some new friends and network.

Before you make that decision I suggest visiting in the summer months too if you plan on calling Phoenix home, there's a reason why Canadians move out here from October through April then pack up and leave. :D

There's a lot of cities that make up The Valley, I've only lived here just over 2 years but you may drive around and look at other areas. The cost of living in Scottsdale is fairly high compared to most places in the area.

Agreed, everyone thinks they have been in heat before. But until you've been in 115* shade, and sunlight so powerful anything you touch burns you, you haven't been in heat.

I personally don't like the east valley to live in, to much traffic, and you have to deal with the Scottsdale Hollywood reject crowd. I live in the northwest valley in surprise. It's newer, cleaner, lower crime, and cheaper than most of the valley. Not to mention there are plenty of 2 and 4 lane roads that have exactly 1 mile between intersections, great for tuning.

Ive been in phoenix when it was 114, it's hell LOL I'm from seattle but moving from cold ass -2F ontario. My work permit didn't get renewed so I'm coming back to the home land, and bringing my canadian fiance and little girl. My parents habe a place north east sclttadale sort of before cave creek. I'm a tig welder also if anyone needs anything, but i may need some sugguestions on where to find argon and stainless supply. :)

Thinking anout moving to east scottsdale what do you guys think of the area? I just got back from there and love it.

I'm kyle by the way. 6466 2g

Well the east Scottsdale is definitely more spendy for sure. But good neighborhoods not to much crime & good schools if u got little ones. I live in the westValley in Goodyear, been here for 14 years and love it. Summers are hot but when it's 70 degrees in January I'd say it's worth it. If it gets too hot in the valley in the summer u can cruise up north an hour or two get some relief and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Thats what i like to hear. Hows firebird by the way? Or wild horse pass as it's called now?

I live in the East Valley, about as far South in Gilbert near Seville Country Club, and I love the area too. Quiet and on the edge of the city but its a bit of a drive into Phoenix, only 15 minutes from Wild Horse Pass though. :).

Like I said, you may comeback out and look around the different cities around Phoenix and not settle in Scottsdale. I could see you wanting to be close to family though, especially for the kid.

Outside of Maricopa County there are NO emissions laws, something else to consider.

WHP is a nice track but because its really the only track left it gets very busy which means less passes and long waits getting up to the lanes.

Oh I'll also add, that anything in scottadale couldnt be more spendy than where i am now with 13% sales tax, and 10% property tax, and considering a half million gets you a bungalow built in 1958, from the origional owners with no updates on a 100x75ft lot... I'm getting government raped up here. Excited to move down and set up shop, you guys ever wonder why magnus has such expensive stuff? The cost of living up here is redicules. Lol

My car will stay registered in washington, so I'm not worried about emissions, i jave however been thinking about buying and bringing back an evo3 for a track car.

I hear you on long track lines... Same story up here but thats why i like to go on slow test and tune days and avoid events for that reason.

Wheres the best place to get welding supplies in east vally?

Hopefully it works out for you but I don't think there's much difference in median income/median house prices in N. Scottsdale just glancing at each cities Wiki pages. $70k median income/$670k median house price in N. Scottsdale compared to a $101k median income/$720k median house price in Oakville, ON. I don't know how taxes work in Canada but I made just over $70k in 2014 but I paid $18k in taxes so my gross was just over $50k for the year. Not possible to live in a half a million dollar home up in N. Scottsdale on that paycheck...

Not trying to put all my info out there, just trying to help in your decision making process. Everyone has their own preferences for what they want in the area they live, as well as money saved, etc. etc. I'm sure you'll make the right choice for your situation man, just letting you know there are other areas around that are cheaper than Scottsdale that are still nice and inside a 30-40min drive if you want to drive there to visit your family or work.

That's nice you have a place to register your car that doesn't require emissions, I've had to get creative with things coming from CA and now here which is a lot more lenient but still required every 2yrs.

I'm not talking about events, I'm talking about the Friday night test and tunes that run every two weeks. They start at 6pm and end at 12am and you'd be lucky to get in 3 runs, and that's me going from the time slip booth and getting right back into line skipping the pits. There's such a long wait I look over my tune, tire pressures, etc. etc. while I'm sitting in line.

I wish I had an answer for welding supplies, I had big hopes of finally getting the Miller TIG I wanted this last year but paying for a wedding set me back and it didn't happen. Maybe this year, then I'll be asking you where you get your welding supplies. :)
