I have a 96 gst 6 bolt swap with v2 dsm link. Car is running good no check engine light but I live in NY and they hook the inspection machine to my car for the inspection but all the monitors are not ready they show inc. I've been driving the car for a while now and nothing yet. I email ecm tuning they say they can't do nothing because EPA regulations. I need help if anyone has input plz let me know I don't want to get any tickets.

There is some information on here about readiness codes and passing emissions even though they aren't ready. It is a known problem but with the correct info you should be able to pass emissions as is. I just don't remember where that information is off the top of my head...

If you come across that info plz let me know where to find it mike 96

Is this distributed among all the states? How reliable is the info to guarantee a pass with no CEL on? Is it automatically exempt in the machine that they hook it up? This is the first I'm hearing about it.

I don't have a check engine light on and I have 0 codes showing just monitors not ready. I was told I need at least 2 ready to be able do do the inspection. The machine they hook the car up won't even start the inspection unless they are ready.

Try printing out the documents shown and see if they will accept it. I'm genuinely curious about this as I haven't had a new sticker since 2010.

I showed this paper to the Inspector here in utah and he sent me directly to the county inspector who oversees all the stations and he wouldn't accept it as not ready. I had to go to the dealer and have them force it ready. Then take it back to county without turning it off to get it to pass.

Turning off the key resets it to not ready.

Good luck.

I have v3 but I used V2.5 and a palm pilot logger to make mine ready for inspection when I lived in new york. Don't really have to much info about it other than that.

i have dsmlink 2.5 v in my 98 with a 95 ecu 7 bolt and i pass .
