I am looking to replace my rusted fuel pump sending unit on my street car. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the RTM Fuel Pump Sending Unit for 1g AWD? The unit looks good and the company's reputation sounds good. Just want to know if anyone has tried thier unit.

Looks like they no longer have this part. It looks like I may have to have it rebuilt. Has anyone had their sending unit rebuilt by Rebuilt Fuel Sending Unit Specialist

I just called RTM Racing, spoke to Ziggy. He told me that these units are no longer made. He made a batch of 20 of them, and over time some customers saw problems develop with the unit due to two reason: if your gas tank had any bumps on the bottom the unit would not sit correctly and the plastic had problems with the metal washers.

He also told me that they might revise the design and make more, but he mades these two years ago and they didnt seem very popular. Maybe this means that we need to get a group buy going. Let Ziggy know there is a need for these in the community.

Hi

Any One know if Are they Still available?

Looks like they are, by going to their website and searching for it.

You Know Vendors leave on web sites all products to promote
Some times you order and know what "sorry we don't have this product any more" :D

The aluminium ones on our site do currently exist and are in stock. They are a newer version than the ones originally referred to in this thread (in 2011).

Someone needs to make a 2g one that has better flow characteristics then the full blown.

I just bought one of their double pump units this summer. I have it installed and have had some idle time and a few laps around the block and haven't had any problems with it so far. For the price of it seemed like a great deal since rust free oem sending units are hard to come by. I like having the option of being able to run either one or two pumps depending on your need at the time. I haven't really put it to the test yet. As far as mounting it goes, i had to cut off all the nipples off the tank gasket for it to mount flush.
I guess the only real problem i have been having is with the fuel gauge sending unit. I don't know if its a problem with the sending unit itself or whats goin on, but i can't get my fuel gauge to work since its been installed.
I would guess my biggest complaint with it is how wiring is connected to it. If you need to remove any of the wiring on top once its installed as it will spin the whole stud and the connector mounted inside the tank on the other end of the stud so you must have the sending unit out to remove the wiring. You will also have to modify or build a new metal fuel pump cover as the oem will not fit anymore due to the AN fittings on top which is expected and not a big deal.
Overall it think its a great unit for the price and look forward to putting it through its paces and seeing how it holds up. RTM is a great company and has answered all my emails and questions right away and been very helpful. I wouldn't hesititate to do business with them again!

This was an oversight on our part but it's easily corrected. Each stud actually has a small allen socket on one end that can be used to prevent the stud from spinning (it takes a 2mm allen key). As long as the stud has the end with the allen socket on the outside of the tank, you can loosen and tighten each stud without ever requiring access to the inside. We do admit that several of our sending units would have been shipped out with the studs in random orientation (that is, with the allen socket not necessarily facing up). Of course, once we realized our oversight, we corrected it. In future we'll even include a 2mm allen key in the kit.

We thank you for your input, without which we may never had noticed our oversight.
