Sorry been really busy lately, I put up pics later tonight

I'm wondering this as well.

shooting for 500hp I see another rebuild in your future.
I decided on only going for 400whp. For a few reasons including limited income as a college student, and as such I wouldn't be able to pay for the cost of maintaining a 500whp dsm. The 1g rods/2g pistons with 6 bolt block should definitely hold up 400whp well. (Also bought the 1g rod/2g pistons already machined and put together brand new for 100$)[DOUBLEPOST=1415833393][/DOUBLEPOST]Idling right after rebuild was finished, engine is really quiet.

Your setup is very similar to mine except i went Holset. 500whp will hold just fine on a fresh rebuild especially if going to E85. Very nice 2gb, good luck.
Sweet, maybe I'll go for 500 after I put down 400 then :) Thank you!
Nice sturdy build! I can't wait till you reach 400whp with this beast!
Thanks, and yeah me too LOL

sweet ride. Good to see another IL member. Where are you located exactly? Im down south an hour away from downtown

Who did the machine work on the block?

I'm in the chicago suburbs. And I cant remember who did the machine work but it was through my mechanic at R&D, wherever he sends all his blocks for machine work.

Throwout bearing finally decided to explode (Had been squeeling forever)
The stock clutch survived 3 decent pulls while I was getting tuned, LOL.
Competition Stage 3 sprung clutch and Fidanza flywheel are going in today, then finishing up 93 pump tune and then switching over to E85 and making a new tune.

You didn't have to trim your front bumper cover at all? I bought my vsrf IC kit many years ago and i had to trim it to fit the front mount. Maybe he's made some changes since. I dont know.

Yeah the bumper did need to be cut up a bit on the inside, and crash beam removed and also some metal trimming

Clutch and Flywheel are in. E85 is in. Will post pics later.

Went to do a pull log so i can finish the tune and now the car dies right after it starts. Managed to get home by giving it gas between shifts. Going to check for spark and fuel pressure today. Any ideas are very welcome

I have fuel pressure and changed the spark plugs. I'm thinking its the battery terminal, it doesnt stay totally tight. Gonna check for spark tomorrow havent really had time to dig into it so far

Welp. Threw a rod. Tearing apart the block to see what the F happened there because it should NOT have thrown a rod at less than half throttle... Anyways, new used shortblock going in maybe 2-3weeks. Money pit I swear.

Pics for your enjoyment
