hey my name is Matthew, I've had my eclipse for a few years now, done a few things to it like the basic intake/exhaust boost controller (after maintenance of course :boring:), but recently I've finally gotten it to a point where I'm ready to start building it, also happens to be about 20 miles after i got my new transmission in it, timing belt has some issues . anyways, I've bought a few parts for the build so i figure its time a start a build thread! My plans are simple a 350ish hp 16g street car on pump gas to take to the track sometimes. that being said I have no real specific goal when it comes to 1/4 mile times or anything but just looking for a clean fun modest build. I've spent 3 years loving this car the way it is but its time to go faster!:dsm:

Here's a few pics of some of the parts im putting on, The clutch is a stage 4 6 puck sprung competition clutch with oem tob, i had this clutch on for a few months before the car was down drove great wasnt to heavy, the cams from what i was told are bc 272's i think they might be regrinds but i got them for a crazy price locally so i will cross that bridge when i get there, i also got some manley valve springs and titanium retainers. also got gates timing belt kit of course oem tensioner. still have a few other things to go and im ready to pull the head off and have drop it off to be rebuilt (see timing belt) LOL

couple small things today I just coated my turbine housing with VHT flame proof so i'll see how that holds up.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove these broken studs before i just take it to a machine shop?

A 16g DD is a really fun to drive! I recommend running water/meth injection, raise the fun factor 100%:). As for the broken stud on you turbine housing, could try drilling it out and retap/ heli coil it.

I've been really considering that, do you run meth injection? I would go e85 but there is only one gas station in my town that sells it and its in the pothole center of the town so I hate going there LOL. and i think I'm just going to go ahead and save the frustration and just take it to a shop I HATE BROKEN STUDS :banghead: haha[DOUBLEPOST=1414974816][/DOUBLEPOST]thought i would see what it looks like all put together, not to bad!

I ran meth. injection on my '93 DD, big 16g, fmic, 3" intake and exhaust on stock long block. Made around 317 on a mustang dyno.
Now I'm running staged race gas from an entire separate secondary fuel system on my fully built '92.

did a few things this weekend while waiting on parts. cleaned up water pipe, removed ac compressor took off water pump and all that jazz to get it prepped to be put back together.

I was in the same boat with the bent valves and broken bolts on the turbo. I drilled out the bolt and torched it. Then I drilled it out bigger and torched it again. I eventually got it out. Mine was out of the hole a bit, so I could put a wrench on it. You may have luck with a bolt extractor?

It was a good week for racecar parts, got all my gaskets, coolant hoses, and last but not least my punishment racing o2 housing came in today, seems to be pretty high quality for the price, and its beautiful :rocks: just waiting on the head to get out of the shop now. also last weekend I finally replaced the peeling dash with a good one, only have a mid process picture of it though.

Well today I installed the apparently extremely shiny water pump, along with the mounts onto the block, cleaned them up a bit, water pipe on,

i got one of those silicone radiatior hose replacement kits and they don't fit well to say the least but will work with some trimming

very nice I don't think I will ever really find out the true numbers this will pull, but ill be on 272s, looking forward to seeing what the top end will be like with this set up.

well I got some more work done today started to trim the new radiator hoses, Cleaned up the block and the head surface and got the head torqued on.

OEM fit guaranteed. haha
