Hey everyone so i had to swap out turbo because it was bad.. I got a 20g turbo installed but its leaking oil from the oil line on top.. I also have a ticking sound even at idle and gets louder when i accelerate.. Any one have any ideas of whats going on?

Oil leak could either be not tght enough or stripped. Is it oil suply on the head or the turbo? if its on the head new crush washers are needed. try to tighten it see what that does

Ticking if that's in the head new lifters might be needed.

[QUOTE="Torpedo, no its coming from the top by the the valve cover.. I had an exhaust leak and thought it was that but i fixed it and its still ticking[DOUBLEPOST=1416409944][/DOUBLEPOST][QUOTE="2gGst98, il try the washers.. I tightened it but it just spins freely. Would that be because i did not put a smile washer??.

Yea the tick sounds lifter tick its usual. I had ot for 2 years befor head swap and 3g lifters.

Now that pick looks like the feed line is crooked on the brass adapter. It might be stripped. Pull the feed line off inspect threads. If they look ok then put plumbers tape on and re tighten. if its stripped then that brass adapter needs replaced.

[QUOTE="rough, does the ticking sound get louder as you give it gas? I can hear it with while im driving? Another thing i noticed was as my car was on jack stands the driver side wheel was spinning slowly ? Is it suppose to do that?

Il try to load a video today i dont think its my down pipe.. The noise is coming from the top of the engine between the turbo and valve cover[DOUBLEPOST=1416445015][/DOUBLEPOST]What year can i get the lifters??

Year the ticking gets louder and faster as rpms go up. Park close to a car or wall and you can really hear it at idle.

I'm not sure doesn't seem right, could be a stuck pad, caliper, bad bearing...

[QUOTE="rough, do u know what year 3g lifter i can use?[DOUBLEPOST=1416458673][/DOUBLEPOST][QUOTE="synthetek, i took the brass off and put the original one on there it does the same thing.. Im going to try the washer now.. Il post results when im done

Left one is the 3g lifter you might need.

Ok i got the new oil line i found out the hole in the turbo is striped in goes in but does not tighten.. Am i screwed here. ??

You can get a tap and dye kit from advance :thumb:
I would get a nice one from Sears with a warranty with it. You will use it for a lot of the bolts that you will end up breaking off in its spot. :beatentodeath:

You could try plumbers tape as stated before. But I'm not sure it'll work.

Good luck though, could be worse.

If the plumbers tape works, I would only use it as a temporary fix. Problems have a tendency to snowball when not fixed properly.

True that, it should have had some on the fitting in the first place. I don't recommend it for a repair for jacked threads. But do put some on when you get it all fixed up and go to put it back together. Will keep you from getting that pesky leak.
